Good morning everyone. Yesterday was such a productive day -- I hope today will be the same. Good luck to us all *Morning routine Appointment with option #2 pre-paid funeral information gathering Mail my nephews birthday present + Dads letter Pick up prescription for MIL (forgot this one yesterday) Healthy Lunch Take out all trash from waste baskets + kitchen and take trash cart to curb later today Maintenance shredding Gather the DVDs we are going to sell/ all gathered up to take to Discoround Take DVDs to Discoround to sell- I got $13. heated and served leftover soup, washed dishes More to come later -- I need to see how this morning goes, I might have more financial calculations to work on. It's very very hot here so the outdoor work I need to do is on hold. I still need to mow the back but it's not too high yet. My little peppers have begun to grow -- tiny little miniature looking things right now The main thing today is the info gathering at the funeral home. It seems to be helping DH and me to be talking and working on the financial stuff together again. We got a monthly savings of $9 by going for the insurance check up yesterday!

Good morning Chris and everyone. It's just a tiny bit cooler today (although the rest of the week is going to be lower or mid 90s) so I have a fan blowing out at one end of my apartment trying to pull cooler air through from the other end. This has managed to get it down to 79 in here, but soon it'll be higher than that outside so I'll shut the fan off and close the windows. Chris - Hey! Congratulations on finding $9 per month with the insurance check-up! It's like magic. How often can we squeeze that much money out of thin air? Diane - I don't envy your high temps. Hopefully you'll get a break soon. We had a front move through around 6:00am and that is helping cool us down today. The heat will be back tomorrow. _________________________________ Dad forgot to get the trash out in time despite reminder notes and staring at neighbors' bins two weeks in a row, so this week I set it out myself. I threw our garbage in the dumpster (due to leave today) and set the recyclables on the curb. Dad asked about the "missing" garbage this morning. That's a good sign for his brain health. Chief among the errands today is taking the older car to the body shop to get an estimate to get it fixed. I damaged it long ago, prior to cataract surgery. We got estimates before and we never actually did anything with it. It limits the car's use and I want it back. I also want to finish vacuuming my friend's apartment. I'm taking care of her cats while she is out of town. I found one of her potted plants underneath the table, potting soil scattered everywhere. I'm guessing the cats got to romping and knocked it off a nearby counter. Anyway, I re-potted the poor thing, collected all the potting soil that I could and added more. Hopefully it will survive. I vacuumed up the remaining potting soil, but there are other areas that need vacuuming, so I'll run it over those floors while I'm there. The cats will love me for it. (Not really.) _________________________________ List Take meds Empty dehumidifier Make bed Load dishwasher Wipe table/counters Have Steamatic spray basement for cat urine odor Sort mail Take car to body shop with old estimate (Three-day repair scheduled for last week of July) Dumpster pick up (clear driveway) Take care of friend’s cats Vacuum friend’s apt Buy baby gift for niece Go through one stash box (paperwork) next to the Ping-pong Table of Doom

Diane -- I know how it is to try and maximize any cool "free" air. We keep our central at 78 and use strategically positioned fans to help us stay comfortable. We're dealing with high humidity and temps in the mid 90s too. Our electric bill is the single most WILD card in our spending plan. Good luck staying comfortable my friend. Celeste -- Your friend will appreciate the TLC for her plant and her cats -- I can only imagine my two cats left to their own devices in this house. I've got one that eats things. I have to be so careful with her. Cat proofing everything. Hope the rest of your day goes well.
