I was referred to this sight yesterday. Interesting reading.
My name is Chris and Hoarders filmed at my home. My episode will air Dec 14. Not sure what to expect. I've read some really nice, supportive, understanding posts AND some really mean, ugly, judgemental posts (not on this site).
Kind of just waiting for the storm....9 days to go...
Chris

Hi Chris! I'm so sorry people have been cruel. You won't find that problem here. I look forward to learning more about you and cheering on your progress. . . The Disorganized Dragon

Welcome Chris First I would like to congratulate you on being so brave as to help yourself with the airing of the show and also for allowing it to be of help for so many others out there with the problems we have. You'll never be judged by a living soul on this site as we're all family sharing the same issues. You'll also find many of us making the time to be sure to see your show that night and be here for all the support you need. You may want to stay away from the posts on the A&E site as most of the folks there are very toxic and the remarks follow the type of person they are. You will never find that here. I'm looking forward to learning from you as we all progress through this. I'm sure you'll have a lot to offer us having gone through this. I'm truly looking forward to working with you as I finish my own cleaning. Hugs SNM

Hi Chris, Welcome to this board. You may find that some of us disagree on some things (and occasionally the discussions can get quite...spirited) but one thing we ALL are is supportive of people who are taking the time and effort to address this life destroying issue. And I think you'll find us a fiercely protective bunch. There are many success stories, lots of cyber hugs and wisdom to be found. Also new friends waiting to be discovered. serenitynow

Hi, Chris, and welcome! You've come to a good place. When you need cheering, we cheer. When you need nudging, we nudge. If you ask for a kick-start, you'll get that, too. I'm glad you're here.

wow, Chris, I really really admire you!! Such courage to air it all... in public... on tv. wowser! Most of us are digging out bits at a time. You went the "bulldozer" route. At any rate, I think you found a huge emotional reaction to the cleanout, and that you have on-going battles to fight to attain recovery...in the house...and in your head & heart. You've come to the right place. We are glad you are with us. I'm looking forward to your input as you recover.

Hello Chris. That is a very brave thing to do, let the public in to gawk at your mess. I cringe whenever my son brings friends over because our house is such a mess.

I'm so impressed that you would agree to be on TV. What inspired you to be on "Hoarders"?

Oh gosh, 'why' did I apply? It really wasn't one thing..it was a combination of several things. But, combined together, just reached a point where I felt like I just couldn't DO it anymore. SOMETHING had to change. End of the rope..bottom of the barrell...last straw...whatever you want to call it.

No matter how or why you finally reached that point--the point we all had to reach in order to get here--it's great that you not only said, "Enough already," but that you decided to do something about it! Watching the first season of "Hoarders" was what brought me to this board (my intro post: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=intro&action=display&thread=7483&page=1#91627)--think of how many people you may inspire to also look around and say, "Enough." I'm sure your episode will help a lot of people make positive changes in their lives.
