Just now Hubby spilled an entire plate of food on MY BRAND NEW CREAM COMFORTER!!! I am so upset. It was perfect. No eating in the bedroom. No eating on the bed. Especially KETCHUP. Now I am at my moms so I can wash it since it would not fit in the washer we have at the new house. I hope it does not ruin it.
Do you ever feel like no matter what you can't have anything nice?Am I doomed to forever live in ick? Why can't I have one thing nice for more than a month?

I am sorry = your washing it fast so it should get clean - use cold water - not hot - hot might set the the food dye.
Personally I would never have a cream colored anything - patterns are better because dirt doesn't show so much.

So far so good. It did say dry clean only. Oh well. It was washed in cold very gentle cycle and in the dryer or low and fluff. I am going to pull it out and let it dry over my shower rod now. I usually have dark comforters and blankets. I suppose I jumped to cream too fast. Before all the new habits kicked in. *sigh* Maybe I will have to ban Hubby from bedroom.

i am so sorry :< i was ticked when i dumped a cup of tea on my bed accidentally earlier this week... but i'm use to it. it's more like just life flipping you off when you were trying so hard and so excited about that beautiful comforter so recently :< i hope it all comes out ok and is still just as beautiful shell...

Dry clean bedding - now that is a concept I do not understand at all. Maybe a fancy coat or suit - but bedding?
Let us know how it goes.

Do you ever feel like no matter what you can't have anything nice? Yes!! I feel your pain...yesterday I wore my brand new shoes out and this guy in a food shop mopped right over my foot with a filthy mop covered in fish sauce.....I was so peed off... That would be so annoying....I bought new sheets for my DD and soon after she had a friend sleep over who then got mascara on the new sheets. I know they are just things..but it's very deflating when you want to enjoy the newness for more than two seconds. Ban food from the bedroom, not hubby...

mrsmess, dunno if you've already saved the sheets or not but eye makeup remover does the trick for me whether i'm removing the makeup from my face or my sheets. i'm terrible about not removing makeup before going to bed frequently. badbad habit :/

I also have a cream colored comforter that is dry clean only...it is down comforter...and as soon as it was on bed the dog was on top of it and now with Spring the muddy feet come along with the dog and this thing is filthy already....I know I can wash it in washing machine with gentle cycle...I did that with the last one...also cream colored....it tore open when dog scratched at it with paws and claws.....hence the new one....

Dear Messyshell Sorry about your cream comforter, I'm sure the "food stain" will come out for you! , don't bar your Dear DH from the bedroom, then you would only be barring yourself from his wonderful company! I'm sure he feels badly about the accidental plate mishap, & he won't even think of bring a plate into the bedroom for a long, long time! Smile Dear One, I know how hard you have been working, the cream comforter reflects all that you have & are trying to achieve. It will come clean Dearest One!( I know that your Dear DH is praying right now that it will! ) Smiles Dearest! Jkai3

Dear Shell,
You have my sympathy.
I wanted to make my bedroom a cat free zone when the elderly cats died a few years back. It would be so nice to not have cat gack or mess or hair on the bed. Sweetie agreed, but immediately started letting the new one's in, "Just for a few minutes." Yeah, and if you believe that, I have a condo to sell...
Anyway, I hope it comes clean, and that Hubby has learned that you mean what you say when you ask him not to eat in the bedroom.

If that stain does not come out, buy a new one... and the $$ comes out of HIS allowance/spending plan.

Ack--whole plate of food is awful! But you're not alone. Take comfort here-- shitmykidsruined.tumblr.com/My comforter is reversible--black and gray. And washable, too. But I still got a duvet cover to put over it--pure white and easy to bleach. Constantly. I think I'm spill-paranoid by now. Cheers, Harley
