Another thought- do you have any friends or relatives that live in the country and that burn regularly? When I have a huge amount of shredding - I box it up in a pre-paid postal box and send to my dad who burns once a month or so. He's burning anyway and it saves me a lot of time.
At the office, we also have a huge bin for off-site shredding. It takes forever to fill it. I don't have any problem if my employees stick a bag of stuff in there on occasion. We also have a high-end shredder that does pretty good on the occasional package of labels. But if an employee had a lot- I would tell them to throw it in the bin. Of course, some companies are picky about that.
You might also check with professional shredding places and see if they have a drop off location with perhaps a small charge.
Good luck! PC

Thanks fivecat and phoenixcat for your thoughts. I'm so happy to get everyone's advice...it really helps me overcome this little bump quickly (whereas these kind of things have always stopped me dead in my tracks in the past). With your help, I am moving past them and keeping momentum.
I didn't know there was such a thing as a professional shredder place, but I might just look into it. I'm also thinking about bringing them all to my Mom's and burning them when I go on vacation in a week or so. In the meantime, I'm planning to take a big fat marker (don't have any paint) and mark them up while I watch tv.

I actually wish I got more of these in the mail. I really like the graphics of some of them and seem to have been dropped from their lists, probably because I never donate to them, or because I filled out the national registry to reduce junk mail.
Anyway, some ways to get rid of trash you don't want to be tampered with can be to add it to your kitchen garbage. Rotten or moldy food, grease or decaying meat, eggshells and other gooey stuff like that make for an unappetizing place to poke around. This is where I put stuff that I can't shred.
I have also noticed that on many of these freebie return address labels, that the print wears off pretty easily. I use the larger stickers to put on my TO DO LIST books (compostion books are what I use) and after a month or so of using that book everyday, I'm lucky if I can still read my name on the label. I use them because I like the pretty graphics that come with them. Anyway, I'd be willing to bet that they won't last long when bunched in with just about any organic waste you choose.
