I think it's the coordinating clutch that did me in. I am wearing the big Hermes shawl-scarf today.

I want to do this before I disappear -- pajama party? Sunday night.
adjustments for downunder. I don't have the pretty nightie -- but I have this slinky spaghetti strap thing I can wear under pretty nightie's robe --
who's in?

I'll be away from 'net access all next week, so I'll be with you in spirit.
How about a black satin chemise, spaghetti straps, touch of lace?

I just bought a new pair of slippers due to this thread. i had to buy a pair, actually. My old pair was so old, the straps were all broken and the heels were all worn out. My back was starting to hurt because they were so worn out. I can't wear the fuzzy cloth kind, as there is too much kitty litter dust tracked around. Cloth slippers just turn into dust magnets. Plus, I slide into them getting out of the shower. Any residual water on my feet (even after wiping,) soaks the slippers. So I need a pair of outdoor slip-on sandals I can wear indoors. I bought a cheap pair of plastic "beach" slip-ons. But they felt so hard and cheap, they pinched my feet. I looked around for another pair of slip-ons and found this lovely RED pair. They are Naturalizers, so they weren't exactly cheap. But, I realized I would be wearing them every day for the next few years, and I want something really comfy in my own home. I was going to get a pair of ugly, old granny type, urethane slippers, but when I saw this red pair, I realized, I deserved a little dress up at HOME! Even if no one else sees them. They are also a bold splash of color for me for shoes. All my shoes are sensible black. I think every time I slip them on, they will remind me, as did the brand new makeup compact, that I deserve to splurge on myself a little and treat myself to some fun color.

I went to see if there was anything that I can dig out that maybe I had forgotten about that I could wear to pj nightie party tomorrow night. Well, ended up trying several things on that I knew wouldn't fit, but was hoping something might be good enough. Well, here is what ended up happening: Put in giveaway bag: 1 pretty robe - never worn, still with tags on- - Size Medium. It is one of those leopard print, very thin (polyester -- so feels nice type... kinda like silk, but not nearly that nice), short sleeves. Yes, it was very promising as far as fit, in fact, I could get away with it. But, why would I wear a robe? Hot natured... Of course, my DH would love it with nothing under it, but I didn't like it anymore. Why did I buy it a few years ago? Were we going to go somewhere where it was hot, but might need to wear something over nightie or pj, maybe we were going to be with family and staying at someone's house? I can't even remember. Ha! 1 purple satiny feel (really polyester) short sleeved but pretty long (at least on me) pajama shirt or nightie? Waay too long for me. I can almost wear it, but not quite as far as everywhere else. But, why? I do NOT love it! Why should I keep that? I have NO DESIRE to ever wear it. So, now I am asking myself why I ever bought it? I have no idea unless it was because I like the feel of it. Don't even know if I'd like the feel of sleeping in that type of material. Size small. 1 mint green pj shorts & shirt, nice satiny feel (polyester). No way, too small, but so thinking I will save it so I can wear it when I get small, again. Ha! if that even happens, won't I won't to buy stuff that I like. I remember wearing it and thought that I liked it, but NOT NOW! If I get thin enough to wear it again, I wouldn't want to wear it. Can't I treat myself if I get thin again?! Size Small. Even if I can't afford to buy new things... surely I could find something used that would be nicer than this. 1 mint green spaghetti strap nightie shirt? Satiny with some design but solid mint green color. Pretty, yes! But, waaay too small. I don't know if it ever went with anything else or not. I don't even remember it... Ha! Size Small. 1 t-shirt (or lighter weight material) pj shorts & sleeveless 4 buttons up to the round neck top. I don't remember this at all!!! I don't remember wearing it! It would be great if I was very young but even if I wear ever to get small enough to wear it, I wouldn't want it! Have no clue why I was keeping it. It looks like something someone might wear while pregnant or as a very young boy or girl due to the colors. White back ground. Pink trim (like baby girl pink), pink polka dots. That is shorts. Top is white back ground with same trim & polka dots and the addition of some stripes... Really strange. And, an embroidered applique of a cute little mouse holding a baby blue heart with baby blue markings & baby blue nose & mouth. Why????????????????????????? LOL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I also tried on a Victoria's Secret black satiny with lace spaghetti strapped top(?). Very pretty & could be sexy on the right person. Size Small. Very tiny, but if I did get small enough, again, this would be fun to try on & would be amazing to wear, again. So, did put that back in my drawer. Tried on another shirt/nightie from my closet. Solid red, satiny material (polyester). Size Small. Long sleeved. Will definitely NOT wear tomorrow night as I would be too hot. But, it almost fit. It is kind of long like that purple one, but not tossing it yet. Will see after I lose a little weight. It still has the tags on it (never worn). So, hung it back in my closet... I have a feeling that it, too, will get tossed soon. So, the winner for tomorrow night will have to be something cute that I bought for me... and just for fun. Not sexy, but cute. It still has tags on it. Bought a year or two ago. It is med. length, black -- t-shirt material-- night gown. Short-sleeved with big picture of Tinker bell on it. It is a view of her with her back showing and bending down in her cute short Tinkerbell outfit with her wand & her head is turned around facing out so that we can see her cute face... and says in 3 places (2 on front and 1 in back). "Pixies Rock!" I love it! Thanks for getting me to go thru most of my pjs/nighties. Until tomorrow night..................................... CD

- I don't own any night-wear. I wear ordinary clothing to sleep in. I have now trained myself to change my clothes in the mornings, and not wear the same clothes all day. But I feel safer, as a woman living alone, to sleep in comfortable stretchy slacks and a sweatshirt and socks. However, I want to honor the spirit of this thread. I have been very moved by this thread ... and have unboxed some of my old fancy clothes and costumes, in celebration. This evening, during the waking hours before bedtime, I shall join with the "elegant nightwear" party, ... in spirit. I'm currently wearing, as I type this to you ... - my full skirt ... that is so full ... that you can pull the edges up to shoulder height ... and still have much skirt and flounce hanging down. It is a bright orange color, with swirls of green and has green metallic thread, gold metallic thread, and red metallic thread on it.
- a jade green cotton camisole.
- A jade green satin jacket.
- And .... tada .... my most beautiful belly dance shawl. It is mint green and black and gold metallic lace ... with amazing mint green beaded fringes. It is very elegant.
- I wear this shawl this evening as I sit here ... in honor of you HopeHope, and all the women reading tonight.
Love, Lioness -

Somewhere, I have some beautiful veils and capes and shawls. Thank you so much for reminding me because I always feel beautiful wearing those things. I will search them out. Like y'all, I've fallen back into the habit of wearing the same crappy shorts and T-shirts day after day, and I haven't even thought about it. I need to tackle my bedroom and unearth some of my girlie clothes.
