ShopGirl, if you look in the scrapbooking section of a craft/hobby store, you'll find lots of little embellishments, most of them self-adhesive.
Sorry, group, for going off topic.

Another thread made me realize I really need to start containerizing the stuff I do want to keep. As much as I need to declutter, (my situation is about guilt about wasting stuff or tossing items I'll just end up re-buying once my life is in order, rather than an attachment to items,) I realize I need order right now. I've been such a perfectionist, that for decades I put off buying the proper storage units and containers. The lack of any containers was because I've always heard you need to measure the storage units in order to buy the right size containers. Since I didn't have my permanent storage units, it became a Catch 22. So, instead I live with the whole mess. But, not even having any type of real containers, and pretty ones at that, keeps this place looking chaotic. Even the areas I've already gone through. Today, I went and grabbed my tape measure. I was at the dollar store yesterday and saw such an assortment of some really pretty colored containers I can put in my kitchen & bathroom cabinets. Those cabinets are permanent, so I can buy for them. I just dug out two nice baskets I had packed away in boxes, and filled what was strewn on my bathroom shelves into the baskets. (Purging as I went.) Are the baskets the right sizes? No. But, the order and the aesthetic sense of peace they give me to have the jumble of stuff out of sight is so worth it. I am really realizing the asthetics of my organizing tools and containers is really important to me. I need to have pretty stuff in place as I continue to purge and desqualor. Instead of waiting till I'm totally purged, if I tackle and beautify one shelf at a time, someday, the tide will turn and I will have more of my space in order than there is ugly, random clutter & squalor.

I have loved Peter Walsh ever since he was on "Clean Sweep" tv show years ago. He has such a good a approach to organizing and how to best use what you have. I am excited he will have a show on Oprah's new network, when ever that starts - next year or the year after, I am not sure. He is practical but understands there are some sentimental things you just can't let go, and his ideas for "honoring" some of those sentimental things or inherited stuff is really good.

shopgirl, The type of box I was thinking of was just a pretty box that fit your decor and caught your eye. You would need to measure the three pill boxes to see what size of box it would be. There are lots of pretty inexpensive boxes or you could get and unfinished one at a craft store like michaels and make one you like. I also like the idea of decorating the pill boxes too. www.amazon.com/Cherry-Stained-Wooden-Jewelry-Gift/dp/B002KA1IUY/ref=pd_sbs_a_13

I missed seeing Peter on Clean Sweep when it was on. I have seen a few clips but the show does not seem to be available anywhere. I will keep an eye out for the new show. Has anyone done their kitchen like he suggests in the triangle format? I am just trying to beat the dirty dishes into submission and get my counters cleared off. I want to try the triangle idea of the holidays.

I only have a liquid soap dispenser, hand sanitizer dispenser, and a small crystal lamp on my sink vanity area. I have a cute basket on the back of the toilet it holds, my hair brush, comb, air freshner, a small antique jar with Q-tips, and my bottle of mouth wash that won't fit in my medicine cabinet.

Thanks for reviving this thread clutterfly. I found reading through it helpful. I probably have 15 things on a bathroom surface that should probably only hold 3-4 things! YIKES!

Yes. I was starting to feel my way this direction, but having logical descriptions in words helps me immensely. This is the concept I'm following in cleaning out/moving into the house. A super-great FREE tool is www.floorplanner.comThere's no download, & if you're visual like I am, this is a lifesaver!!

Love it when there are no downloads! I will check the floorplanner site out for sure.
I am so upside down in my thinking that when my husband and I were looking at a great house I was ready to write it off because it wouldn't fit a pair of armchairs we own into the living room
The truth is I don't even like the armchairs that much. Why was I treating them like family pets?
