thank you- there is so much more that I will tell as time goes by but I wanted to finish his arrival adventure only because even though I am doing fine there is always that little bit in my mind of finishing things just in case>>>>>>>>
I think Dogman deserves more of his dash to be told someday because he changed our life priorities- or dreams of retirement. I am not sure he even thought of himself as a dog in dog terms and yet he was very well behaved- I will come back as time lets me.

OMG...your memoir has touched my heart so deeply, it's brought tears to my eyes. I can totally put myself in your position and feel everything you must have felt. You are a gifted story-teller and I'm so glad you got to share so many years with your wonderful little "dogman". BTW, I have a Shih Tzu and knew as soon as I saw his pic that he had Tzu in him! They really are the greatest little love doggies. The phrase "love in your lap" really fits them to a "t". Thank you for sharing your story with us all.

Awwww! I love this story!
I was doing housework and took a break. Started reading your post and got so interested in it. I would read a section..then get up and do something quick to the house...and then come back and read some more.
I'm so glad you shared his story. And I'm especially glad he found a loving home with you and Dave.

(((Hugs))) Binky ... Meme's husband (papa-david) passed away 5 years ago. Dogman the beloved dog passed away, as Meme said ... in September 2009. He had a good life and crossed the rainbow bridge without pain. Meme chose to write Dogman's story the year after Dogman passed away. Meme herself -- her illness got worse and she didn't have time to finish this blog ... Dear Meme passed away in November 2011. The rest of their story is here: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=16890 -

Oh my gosh! I feel so stupid! I knew from what she had written that Dogman and her dear husband had both passed away. But I didn't realise she had too. I do remember reading that post now that you posted it. But never connected the two.
She sure left a legacy didn't she? Even after her death she caught my attention in a story she had written. Bless her heart.
