Thank you so much Lioness for posting this information for us. I will never forget our dear Meme nor her words of encouragement given over the years. I know she is rejoicing with her husband and her dear dog who went before her.

What sad news! My heart goes out to Meme's beloved young relative. May your sweet memories of Meme bring you and the rest of your family peace at this time. Meme taught me grace. I will try to be more gracious and forgiving of others, as Meme was. I will try to give more gentle huggles. I will carry Meme with me always, as she was a true friend to us all. A gentle, encouraging leader. Meme will be greatly missed!

Thanks Lioness. I was on the board a few years ago, and I do remember Meme as papaswife. She was a good, bright soul. Sympathies to her dear family and friends.

Meme was very kind and supportive when my husband passed away last May, we exchanged messages and she cared very much for how I was coping.
I knew one day I would login and find Meme had joined Papa, Dogman and the birdie and it is a sadder day than I ever imagined.
Goodbye and thank you, Meme. Go with God.

Meme is running low on candles. Any of you want to participate? It's a beautiful site. Thanks CSLion for starting that up for meme. I had never seen that site before. www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=memeI just added a new one but the other 3 are burning very low.

www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=meme
I just added a new one but the other 3 are burning very low. Updating several years later ... - There used to be a separate page at the candle website (gratefulness.org)
- a separate page dedicated to each person. However the candle website now has one single page for everyone, (so there is no longer a separate candle page for our member Meme). At the page for everyone, you can light a candle there with a short name or initials indicating anyone or any memory, and then type in your own message with your candle. Anyone clicking on your candle will be able to read your message. It will be publicly-viewable by anyone, so be discreet with your comments.
Here is the revised candle-memory website: gratefulness.org/light-a-candle/
Just wanted to let you all know that no "logging in" or membership is required to participate in the candle website. You can add your name (up to five letters) where it asks for your initials ... or you can leave that blank. You can add a message or not. Do whatever works for you. Each "virtual candle" will "burn" for 48 hours, gradually getting smaller, until it's burned away. What I like about this candle website is that it's called "GRATEFULNESS". So it's a place to express gratitude. You don't have to have any religious/spiritual belief system. It's just a place to contemplate gratitude. You can bring into this whatever depth of meaning is appropriate for you. I've been checking the site frequently ... many people have lit candles for Meme ... each of which has burned for its allotted hours. You are always welcome to light a new candle at any time. Nobody is obligated to do this -- it's just provided as an alternative way for people to express themselves. All are welcome. By the way, lighting candles at this site was a tradition started by our member peppermint66 who began a candle site for one of our SqualorSurvivors members who passed away in 2007. We've added suggestions to light candles for other members who have passed on. The other candles are: for "parrotsparrotsparrots" (nicknamed "P3") for "Phfoenix" (nicknamed "Phee") for "BDG" (formerly "baddomesticgoddess") for "ThreeG" (formerly "Third Generation Squalor Survivor") for "margaret56" ("Margaret") And our brother Rory.
You could also light a candle with the intitals "LFC" to stand for "Light From Chaos" -- which is to honor anyone who has ever struggled with chaos. Gratitude to peppermint66 ("pepper") for this idea. -----------------------------------

I always read Meme's posts even if pressed for time. There was always something of value or sweetness in her musings. It would have been wonderful to meet her in real life.
Rest in peace, dear Meme, with your dear Papa.
