Hi CD, Yes, most of those mini-collections were mine. The porcelain dolls are my DDs but I asked her if she wanted them, she told me no, I could try to sell them for her, but I won't bother. The local church can use money, they just finished putting up a ramp for moms with prams and people w wheelchairs, so am happy to help cover the costs (the archdiocese would only cover in part - grumble) The doll house furniture never got used  sunk costs-not so much, TG. The ceramic figurines was a (started) collection from my youth. The mini-mineral collection was DH's but he will part with it, (he took out one amethyst.) The seashell collection isn't really that special, apart from a few conches my mum gave my DD two decades ago. Will ask her again if she still wants those. The rest goes. |

Just wanted to invite everyone on this thread to contribute a total of whatever they purge during the month of June ... to the annual GROUP purge-a-thon. The annual June purge-a-thon is sort of like an SOS-wide call for ALL members. as a prod -- to inspire everyone to spend a month amping up their efforts to toss stuff. This annual tradition began as a tribute for members who passed away... .... but you can purge stuff for ANY reason at all!What we do at the end of the month is TALLY the total of ALL members who wish to contribute their totals ... into a group-wide total. In June 2011, we collectively purged over 85,000 things! It's a separate forum attached to SOS that disappears at the end of June. Some people continue posting in their regular threads and then just periodically post a summary onto the purge forum. -- or just give their total at the end of the month. Others set up their own threads on the purge forum You can do this however best works for you! 1777  Way to go purging papergoods ramatama! I threw out so many things while I was packing to move. I'm going to estimate at least 100 things that would not normally have made it to the trash were tossed out. I have a few bags in storage now that are mostly intended to be donated, but well meaning helpers mixed up the piles, so I have to dig through them (quickly) to save anything that didn't belong. It should be quick, since it was weird mixups, like toiletry items in with the small appliances that I was donating, or dishes in with the clothes... I'm starting to think that the only people in my life that are willing to help me out in a pinch are the crazies Ah well, the more the merrier! Since I've been at my parents' house I've been working on a clothing purge. I just posted that I've gotten out 163 items of clothing, but I won't put that into my total here until the end of June Purge-a-thon so that I don't double count anything! I'll have more to add to that when I get back to town and go through the last of the clothing. I only brought what was inside the apartment to my folks, so storage unit and I have a date with destiny. So: 1777 - Conservative estimate of 100 things = 1677 left to toss.  1677

I tracked the rest of June (June 5 - 30) on the June 2012 Purge-a-thon.
So, this was my total from those dates: 944

Which means I actually completed my 3rd Round of 2012.
And, gives me a start of 648 for Round 4!
