So I just made a fun quiz that helps you see, "What Type of Hoarder Are You?". I thought many of you would like it because most of us are hoarders or at least know someone who is. Feel free to take it and post what type you are!. www.qzzr.co/quiz/what-type-of-hoarder-are-you

Survey Says : Emotional Hoarder: More about your result While you may not have a shoe collection that numbers in the hundreds, you will hold onto anything that has even the slightest emotional connection. An ex's hoodie, a crush's dirty sock, and your great-grandma's dentures are all common sights in your home. You know, sometimes it is better to just let go....

Randy Frost, one of the experts/writers on hoarders and hoarding says that clothes are among the most often hoarded objects. I believe it!

Thank you Swamped! A root beer float sounds like just the thing right now. Let's all of us lift our glasses.

I am as bad at acquiring clothes as I am at hoarding them. At least I see what I am doing now, although I can only sometimes stop myself. I bought a shirt and skirt online. The total, to my door, was less than $20.00. The online and printed catalog photos looked good and it is hard for me to resist such a low price. (I got a commercial photography AA degree many years ago. I know the tricks but fall for them anyway.)
The 2 items arrived today. I don't like anything about either item. It would cost me $7.50 to return them. I am unwilling to lose more money over this. So I will be donating these brand new, but unloved garments. One of these days I will learn.

A semi-annual bag sale? I am so glad that isn't happening in my town. I honestly don't think I could stay away. This sounds like a major delicious treasure hunt.

Working on my clothes hoard right now. Questions I'm asking myself with every article of clothing - Does it fit well? / Try it on if I don't know. - Does the aesthetic please me? Cut, color, material? - Does it carry emotions that feel 'heavy'? If yes, it's gone. No reason to keep that stuff around. - Realistically, will I ever wear it? When? Can I imagine myself wearing it? If no, it's gone. - Does it feel like -me-? There is no reason we need to keep clothing that is less than ideal. If we're here, it's because we have a lot of it. We're not in danger of being without. Maybe even with all these clothes we don't have what we really want, what really seems like the perfect wardrobe that will express us fully and make our lives magic, but we can get as close to that sense as we can with our clothes. Is it comfy? Cute? Do you feel good things when you put it on? We don't need to keep anything that doesn't live up to this. And so I continue getting rid of things ex-partners liked that bring up too strong a memory, things from family members that don't feel right, and the clothes I want to wear but because of xyz reason know I never will. The reward is having a handle on what I do own. So I know what I have, and have a better idea of what I need. So shopping can be smart. Focused. Intentional. We can do it

Today I went through all of the socks and tights I own. Put in good shape ones in a bag to donate, and THREW AWAY others! And I threw away other clothing that was stained that I don't have the energy to clean! A first for me. The only reason I could do it without guilt was SooS.
