Did another 2 hrs in the yard. Emptied all 7 of the very old & pots & spread the old dirt around, Dug up old amaryllis in hopes of replanting it & forcing blooms. Cut/lopped treelets from the back that were 'prolly growing into my foundation. That yieded 2 more garbage cans of brush which are now at the curb. Good job on the weeding Wynken, & good luck with coming rainfall!

All of you are doing great! I have started the annual battle of the GARLIC MUSTARD! It sure got going fast this messed up year.
I have so much to do, at least when I'm pulling the garlic mustard I don't need to think. Just pull and pull and pull some more.
I envy you who have the curbside brush pick up. We can't throw out any yard waste here. Have to compost or burn it and there is just so much. The only exception they make is if it's in a clear bag and labeled garlic mustard we can landfill that scourge.

Did 3 hrs in courtyard preparing for container planting. Assembled all containers & soils to determine sizes. Washed some pots & trays. Began by planting 2 flowering plants (portulaca & mexican heather). Good luck on tackling that garlic mustard, hangers!

WTG! on getting it done fellow gardeners. Yesterday and today are lovely, in the 60s. Saw a fly and two lady bugs and four butterflies/moths. So today I got out the wasp traps. Hoping to trap ALL the queens so there will be NO wasp nests on my property this year. LOL Sunday we are expecting snow or rain but looks like Spring is really here.

I've been working like a dog in the courtyard scrubbing ~all~ the pots & trays. Have lined up the pots as to where they will go, so tomorrow should be easier. Planted 2 dianthus & 1 amaryllis. Clipped back a dead hibiscus. Thanks for the cheers, WG. Good luck with your containers too, ramatama! Good luck trapping those wasps, casper!

4 more hours spent in courtyard today. All planters have been filled. Seeds should finally be ready to plant tomorrow. A late start, but there was plenty of preliminary work to be done first. Lots more yard work awaits since it got so far away from me this past year. The satisfying thing is that I am ~finally~ beginning to very slowly gain on it .

3 more hours spent on the yard today. I still didn't get those seeds planted. Digging out the dead hibiscus turned out to be way more labor intensive than I thought-- After digging around it a bit I had to use an axe on it since some of the roots were way too thick. New hibiscus now planted in its hard earned spot! Thanks for your cheers casper!

Fantastic, step! Good job. Hibiscus is an annual here, hehe. You've a great place there for things to grow to maturity. I'll be it was fabulous in its prime.

I spent 3 more hours in the yard & ~finally~ got my seeds planted-- white corn, green beans, & trying green onions although I'm a 'lil too late. I also transplanted my tomato plant & 3 more amaryllus. So, I'm off to a late start & I hope they don't get fried before they can mature, but they are partially shaded by a tree. Here's hoping! Thanks for stopping by WG!

I'm still waiting for the snow to stop falling here before I can plant my seedlings out & put my other seeds into the ground. Winds still blowing 35 to 70 mph at times so I have to wait to spread compost & manure or it will just all blow away. Maybe by the middle of April.
