Great idea! RR you're doing great! My husband's dream is to get our garage cleaned out.
I have no spring break but I've been reading here and replying more in the past day or so, just getting motivation.

Hmmmm, reading back, I have not really stuck to my plan, but I have accomplished a lot.
- Sorted through my clothes closets! - tossed 2 pairs of pants in bad shape - hung up 5 good pairs of pants that I can now wear that I had bagged up previously!
- sewed on missing button on 1 pair that now I can wear (have them on now!) - bagged up 4 big bags of clothes to be donated!!!! (I am very proud of myself) - neatly bagged some clothing that I am not prepared to donate yet (but cannot wear) - am dating it and will visit it in 6 months and decide what to do (wear or donate) - (that's what I did with the 4 bags I am now donating)
Even though I had vowed to have ONLY what I wear in the closet, I guess I can't do it. However, I will have purged about 60% of unworn clothing that was just in bags - so I think I have made progress!
To continue:
- sorted clothing to be washed into laundry baskets - put baskets in foyer in cart to prepare for washing - I think I will wash most in building today (very windy out and my allergies are bad today - so I don't want to go out at this point to laundry mat) - created business flyer on computer
TODOs - prepare and eat late lunch - put laundry in machines to wash downstairs - bring down one more bag of clothes to be sorted from top of high closet

Roadrunner - love the pictures of your garage you posted - when you are done it will seem like a 5 star hotel Working for a concentrated period (3 hours) seems to be a good strategy. Tomorrow is another day - I am pooped. Just finished - folded and brought up final (third) load of laundry - put clean sheet and made up bed - swept bathroom floor - dumped litter box full of dirty litter - rinsed/am soaking litter box and tray

I forgot to share the comment my husband made. He said he would take the truck to the dump tomorrow so we could put more in it. I told him that we would not have as much to throw away tomorrow and he could wait another day. He said not I might go and try to take stuff back out. I was very happy with our progress.

Roadrunner, yay for hubby wanting to go ahead and take the stuff away! Hurrah for help in removing the temptation to take stuff back out! I am posting late but need a longer list to work with. I will still be in WIT, but want to post a master list here. put laundry in dryer gather up and toss all magazines (except Christmas ones) order two items from amazon put away remaining Christmas ornament box find box 3' tree belongs in and put tree and box away put box containing dog necessities in closet instead of on LR floor put empty boxes from product purchases in top of closet start garbage bag move Easter craft items from DR floor to bedroom move deflated air beds from LR floor to bedroom take ibuprofin for back spasms collect random trash from LR DR, and kitchen call about rescheduling counseling appointment--called, but they're closed until 3:00, so will have to call back later check email shower and dress to shoes put sheets on to wash straighten coffee table (stack books and pending papers neatly) work on homework for counseling wash dishes pick up three things off living room floor put away three things on kitchen counter walk dogs get ready to go to therapy go to therapy and run errands OK, this very partial list has overwhelmed me, so I am going to take three things and move over to WIT. Be back later!

Hi ontheway, andrea & seashell, Seashell your list looks great. I am going to start a little earlier today and a little different strategy. DS and DD are still asleep, so going to let them sleep in for about another hour. I will start decluttering the Right side of garage. Take a break get breakfast for DS and DD and then they can handle the piles I have for them. I am ready to get started by wanted to let DS and DD sleep in, once we go back to school it will be not stop for the next 3 months. Off I Go

TADAs - brought cart out to foyer and now ready to bring it down (realized that I'd actually put those other garbage bags out on the curb a week ago!) - created staging area for bedroom book purge - brought brunch dishes and and rinsed them
- neatly positioned bags of books from school I need to re-shelve - went through 2 shelves of kids' books and found 5 or 6 I can get rid of, a pile I can shelve in the living room (they are really adult history books - don't belong in children's section), and 1 pile that I need for upcoming teaching units
I wish I can find more to get rid of! Still, I have only gone through 2 out of 24 shelves - so I must think positive, right?

TADASUpdated master list with some begun but not finished tasks - sorted large plastic bin of books - shelved some of the books - freed up 1 shelf of books - made pile of books to be gotten rid of - one way or another - created pile of books that need to be shelved in living room bookcase - swept bedroom floor - swept bathroom floor
I think it is going to be a lot harder to purge the children's books than the professional books! I think the best shot is the fiction paperbacks and hardcovers.
