Hurricane, I am so glad that the "spree" did cause any real damage. Getting that stuff shipped is going to be a load off your mind. I'm glad that your husband is going with you. I realize that it is more symbolic than necessary, but it's just nice.
Downandout, I bet that the bike and the aquarium made had a huge hole in your clutter... WTG on getting rid of things that are holding you back. I know they were difficult decisions but you deserve that space.
Cando, having a functional kitchen is something YOU deserve. WTG on the counter. Having a cleared space in which to work, makes cooking a lot more fun.
I am not up to agressive right now, but I tossed out 5 more items from my closet. With all the tossing I have done most people would be naked but now... but NOOOOOOOOOOOO Not me, I buy WAY too many clothes. This has got to stop and a lot of the stuff here has got to go..... (this is after I moved and tossed out about 3 FULL lawn and garden bags of clothing and THOUGHT I had purged completely.... LOL I guess this is the reality of being a hoarder.) All my clothes "FIT" in the closet and drawers... all of them ARE wearable... but geesh, I really don't like some of them.... WHY ARE THEY STILL HERE??? Did I think I would wear them "in an emergency" when I don't like them? What emergency was I waiting on? "LOOK YOUR WORST DAY?"

I didn't get a chance to catch up with this thread today, as it was very busy (got a lot done, though!). So my plan is to begin thread #4 tomorrow morning. Be ready!

Hurricane, Sunshine, Di Dreaming, and Cando, thank you very much for encouraging me about the results of my dresser. It is fun to share the photos here and get your feedback. Hurricane, I am so glad you spoke to your husband about the situation. Accountability and honesty are important for a healthy relationship and a healthy psyche, in my opinion. Downandout, I love your story about getting rid of two large unwanted items from the doom room. It's wonderful to know that items that were just sitting, doing no one any good, have found a home with people who will love and appreciate them. And it's even better to know that you have some additional space in that room with those items moved out. Cando, looking forward to reading more of your kitchen progress. Di Dreaming, this is hilarious: What emergency was I waiting on? "LOOK YOUR WORST DAY?" Keep on chipping away. I look forward to your updates. Well, thread #4 is ready, for anyone who wants to join in there: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=18005
