My Clutter Critter is on a tear today. Things are strewn about in virtually every room. The Popcorn Pest attacked the kiddo's room, I am thinking of letting the dogs in there and letting them do the initial clean up on that one.

Bullies and Monsters. You mean I'm not the only one with bullies and monsters in my house? OK. I'm going to try to be brave. I have 3 monster traps in my car (file boxes). Umm, yeah, one of my dogs watches like a hawk for anything edible that falls on the floor, cos he figures that's fair game  Although, popcorn might be a choking risk? The dog-powered floor cleaning has happened more than once here  |

O! M! G! I LOVE THE CAT! You have made my day! I'm at the doctor's office with Mother. She has refuses to let me go with her to see the doctor - she's really being ugly - today, it is taking a lot to make my day! And the machine gun cat did it! Thank you. |

They are all either stained, outdated, or I just don't like them. I've kept the linens because I do have 4 twin beds and one queen, and you just like to have extra sheets and stuff... but seriously? The mismatched stuff can go. The Aladdin and 101 Dalmatian prints can go (the "boy" is 25!) And if I don't even LIKE it, why on earth keep it? It's not making me happy when I do use it, and it's certainly not making me happy taking up space. So out with it! And on the wonderful side, next time I do have overnight guests, I get to shop for new linens!  |

Fantastic stuff, Camper! (Is it okay to call you that?) Yup, son has probably outgrown the 101 Dalmations  When I joined here and took a real look at my linen cupboard, I realised I had quite a few single bed sheets. The thing is, I haven't HAD a single bed for 3 years. And gosh, brand new linens, doesn't that sound just wonderful? I've been meaning to ask - how do you make those awesome custom smilies? |

I got mad at my linen closet. I have quite a few heirloom linens that have to have shelf space. After I tore a ligament in my finger pushing stuff that wouldn't fit onto a shelf, I went through and got rid of all the sheets that I just didn't like, I put one nice set on each bed, I put one change in a drawer in each room where there was a bed, and I bought one NEW set for each size bed and left it in the closet, that gives me one set on the bed, one to change to, and a new set that is set aside for "emergencies" When one of the 2 I am using wears out I will put out the new and then buy another new set. I keep my "emergency set" unused because the manufacturers fold so much better than I do and it doesn't take up much space. I also took all the blankets that I wasn't using but might need "someday" for "something" and took them to GoodWill if they were intact or the animal shelter if they weren't.
Linen closets get out of control so easily because I for one tend to hold on to that stuff because (I can use it to clean with, I can use that blanket as quilt batting, I MIGHT need a sheet to cover something, I MIGHT need a blanket to move furniture, I MIGHT want to take a blanket to the beach even though I have nice beach towels that I actually use, etc... )
Would that be called the Linen Legion?

Ok, I was able to get in and make off with one clean item of laundry that has been there for who knows how long . . . and one empty package to the trash.

My friend who's visiting right now "wouldn't let me" face the Basement Bully last night. She "insisted" that we sit around talking about "old times"!!! But as soon as she's not looking, I'm going to run down there with my traps and find 1 thing to throw away!!! I may not check back here before Monday, but I'll let you all know how it went when I do! (I don't even like guns, but the cat makes me feel safe!!! ) |
