I have slipped a spool of twine past the Surface Stacker lurking in the kitchen, to the box where tie-down stuff belongs; only to find the Surface Stacker has also been in that room - found a can of tomato soup which I snuck off to the pantry.
My focus is pretty well shot today, so I am spending my 8 minutes sneaking an item here, and slipping an object from there.
This is not the first time I have spent my 8 minutes that way. It works.

Today, I am happy to report that I have been taking just one item here and there, and the path from my front door to my back door is becoming noticeably wider!

Hi notahappycamper Just want to say a quick hello. I have to go back and read all the pages in this post. I have a scary basement too, and this summer I really have to get down there and start to do something with it. I went down there a couple of weeks ago and the cobwebs - yikes - so really need to be armed and prepared when I go down there.

I just want to report that even though I have been busy and running like a kerosene cat in gasoline britches, I have been picking up an item here and there as I pass by, and dropping it in the trash. "progress, not perfection."

like a kerosene cat in gasoline britches, did you just make that up or is that a common expression?

like a kerosene cat in gasoline britches, did you just make that up or is that a common expression? Oh, that's an OLD saying. My grandmother used to say that sometimes. I guess it's an old "Southernism." Tonight I sidled past the kitchen surface stacker, and removed a few bottles of aquarium products.

Hi everyone!!! I was hoping to join this thread to help me defeat my OFFICE OGRE!! The office ogre has taken over a bedroom in my house and has made it a wreck!! There are important papers (the deed to the house, my kids, mine and my husbands birth certificates, my marriage license) as well as piles and piles of clothes that I am one day going to put on ebay or have a garage sale. Just tons and tons of stuff!!! I would really like rambo kitty to help me - one thing at a time. Today, I am going into that room and emptying it of 5 random items. I will pick up 5 things and put them where they belong, immediately on craigs list or ebay, or INTO THE TRASH!!! This is a GREAT thread, so glad I found it, and so glad to see so many of my virtual friends here with me!

The Pernicious Pile ate a few unnecessary(yet lovely) purchases yesterday.... I am going to have to start the sneak attacks on him. He's been putting on weight. Time for him to diet again.
