I also keep the Spider broom in my garage. Try to at least start with a pathway and always wave the broom all through it or up where u see webs. It really does help, and its a start!
I always take a broom with me wherever I am going in the garage and wave it there first, I cant stand the feel of webs touching me, gives me the heebeejeebies

I now shall go and clean in your honor and thank god and be grateful that I dont have bugs in here YET. And yes I would like to keep it that way! I am proud of you fluffernut for making the fancy suit and facing the fear. You are a stronger lady than I!

I think bug bombs are a good idea, in this case. Or spraying down with something like Raid.
And after it's aired out, then I'd use a shop-vac to vacuum up all webs, bugs, etc. It's way faster and more efficient than brooms and you won't have to handle anything. Except dumping the vacuum bucket into the trash, but even that is hands-off. Do use a shop vac though, and don't ruin your real vacuum cleaner.
