Well, internet has been working, as long as I only open one tab at a time. I know I have to address this at some point but for now I'm just glad to be connected.
It's supposed to be the warmest day of the week, 87 is predicted but at the moment it's still overcast and cool and comfortable. I probably should be doing volunteer work this morning but my foot is bothering me a lot the last few days and I want to save my walking ability for my dog walks.
The plan for today is general decluttering and assessment of where I am in my summer goal.

I'm visiting my sister today--I almost never visit on a Tuesday so now I'm all mixed up as to what day it is!
I got a lot (well, relatively speaking) done on my summer goal cleaning yesterday, but as usual, ignored everything else.
No walks scheduled for when I get back so hopefully will be able to work on it tonight.

I hope you have a fun day at your sisters! I can imagine how it will mess up "what day is it" for you for a few days.  I like going visiting because I'm usually inspired to do things on the house when I get back. |

I've been offline for the last 36 hours, before that there was a day of very intermittant access, going in and out every few minutes!
I'm really not getting anything done around the house, even on my summer goal--I had an increased number of walks for a few days, which I'm no longer used to--plus it's hot again, several days in the mid-90s in a row, so I'm slowing down again. My biggest problem seems to be my inability to pick up after myself, it's making me pretty angry and I think it's the next thing I have to address. I had all rooms but the 2 bedrooms looking really good, and then I had some busy days, and now they need complete decluttering again--I just have to learn how to keep them neat even when I'm busy, or else I'll never be able to get this place clean.
I'll come back later in the day and see if I can still get online, and then I'll read around and post some.

Diane, I can so relate. Seems like if I skip one day, it takes me twice as long to get caught up. If I skip two days in a row, it seems like it almost puts me back to square one. I also have to work on picking up after myself....and my husband...because he was obviously raised by wolves, and is unable to grasp the concept either.

Hi Ellen, yes, I'm lucky in that it's only ME I have to pick up after, I would never be able to pick up after a whole family. We would just have to resign ourselves to living in chaos!
Internet out all day again. I got a little decluttering done but am not back to where I started, tomorrow is supposed to be cooler than it has been so hopefully I'll catch up then. At this rate I'll never accomplish either of my possible goals by September 15th.
Back up to mid-90s by the end of the week.

Okay, so this morning, I have internet access but when I went to my computer (I don't always turn it off at night, it was already on) there was a blank Windows screen--no way to get Windows started working. I restarted the computer and it was the same. This same thing happened shortly after I got this computer, the problem was I had tried to install a program that wasn't compatible with Windows 7. I had to call for help and they had me reinstall Windows from my recovery disk. I have no idea what I could have done this time, I haven't installed anything, certainly not anything old. I decided to try restarting one more time and this time it worked--but I know that it could happen again at any time. So, I backed things up, and now I just have one more computer issue to worry about.  Can't live with them, can't live without them. The weather forecast has been changed to near 90 today, and hot all week. Oh well, I have to leave for 2 walks soon, when I get home I'll try to get some work done. Diane |

Hi Diane --  -- I understand about the heat -- it's very frustrating! Computer problems are no fun. I now think of the computer as almost as essential as water and electricity. Odd to think that I didn't grow up with them but now they are so integral in my day. I hope yours acts right and does not try to go blank again. Have you got a good antivirus installed like the free microsoft security essentials? Most likely you do - I'm just asking in case. Good luck and I hope the cool air reaches you soon and when it does, send some down here! My mother says its COLD in Vermont. I think she means at night and in the morning but that would be wonderful - even some rain here would be nice. |

Hi Chris, I know it's just a matter of time until the beautiful cold air gets here, I'm now trying to be patient!
Progress has come to a standstill here, I've had a very busy week, which is greatly appreciated after how slow the summer has been. I'm not used to being busy anymore, so today really tired me out--I had 5 walks, a cat care visit, a 3 hour clerical job AND realized my library books had to go back or they would be overdue.
I only have 2 weeks to go on my summer goal, I won't finish everything that I want to, I'm reminded that when I have a lot of outside work, I never have the energy to do much around here. Oh well, I'll try to start working on my backlog of stuff tomorrow.
