Hi, CanDo Expressway, it is. There are fewer directions to reach the destination. I'm learning a lot about floors, tee hee. I want them done right, but also have to consider $$$. Well, I know you're doing your best to take care of your dog. Don't you wish she could talk sometimes? It would make it easier.

Sounds like everyone is having a productive day! Well done!!
I'm still feeling icky, but went into town today to pick up some comfort food, munchies, and a few household necessities.
I shed a bit of squalor shame last night. I had invited a friend to visit this weekend, but he indicated that he might me able to make it on Sunday. At the very last minute, he changed plans and I had 30 minutes to shower and clean up my room a bit. As he left, he said "You're a bit of a hoarder, aren't you? " Normally I would have bristled defensively but instead I said, "yeah, I am. " I was a little surprised when he said "me, too. " He isn't the first to know, but he is the first to say that without a really negative response from me.
I'm hoping I will manage to deal with the nasty hall carpet today. I think that may be the extent of what I manage.

Cando -- I have given all of the students study guides so they do have something in hand to study. The 3 that do not have facebook do not have internet access at home. They do not test until Tuesday and everything that I have created today is accessible through another online resources that they all have access to at school or the public library.
This is the first time I have used FB to "poke" the students to study. At this point I have some thinking it will pick up late this evening. My hope is that by posting frequently when they do realize it is time for the 11th hour cram session that will have a starting point, because most of them throw the studyguides away.
Trial Run -- Will see how it goes.

Saffron, I would definitely do the floors yourself. It sounds scarier than it is. The last place I lived in had disgusting carpet in the kitchen, full of grease and grot. I decided in the short term to just stain the floorboards because I didn't have the cash to deal with lino or laminate. My floor was untreated wood but could have done with being sanded just to even it out. If your floor is already stained, that is the tough part. When it came to actually staining the floor, I bought one of those "paint pads", stuck it on a pole and basically mopped the stain on. I cheated and used outdoor deck stain as well and it held up brilliantly everywhere except in front of the stove.
Definitely not as scary as it sounds!

Wow, lots going on on this board today! I'm home for a half hour before having to go out on a walk, trying to catch up on all the posts.
Cando, I know how you feel about treatments for DAngelDog. I had a few cats that needed fluids and 2 were fine, the 3rd was a cat who had a reputation as a biter and a fighter at the shelter. He turned out to be very loving with me, but when he was old and in kidney failure and needed fluids, it upset him so much that he was hyperventilating and shaking. I tried it twice, but realized that any benefit the fluids would give would be offset by the stress, so didn't try after that. Quality of life is more important than length of life, and some animals just don't do well with constant treatments.
I hope she'll be okay for a while yet.

I'm going to have DSon42 come over next week to see if he'd like to take on the project. I found some good videos & articles online describing different methods on how to do it, (depending on what they look like now.) If I could do it physically, I sure would try it. I used to do all kinds of things when I managed apts. "back in the day," but now with infirmities, I just have to stick with the planning aspects of it, and small projects. I will keep you posted on what we decide to do.

- Sleepymom, I'm just now reading your reply to me on page 18 of Saffron's "MAY" I come in thread. takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=action&thread=17928&page=18#277256Hope the refi works out in July. Don't kick yourself, I think you really needed the car! Also I read your June 1st productive day. Awesome. but... Remember that you can post whenever you want, whether you feel down or up! If everyone posted ONLY when things were happyhappyjoyjoy, none of the lurkers would be able to relate! I think that writing about our crappy days lets others know they are not alone! -

Lioness, Thanks for the flooring links. The bedroom grody carpet will be GONE by Thursday. I'm loving my "new" old hardwood floors, even if they are messed up a little. I found the spot/stain where the shop & drop tomatoes turned to liquid and seeped through in the living room. LOL You're right about posting under all circumstances, not just when we feel "up." I've sat here crying, knowing that someone else shared my feelings of despair, fear, hopelessness. And I've received so much encouragement from reading, how others have overcome their situation.

It will be better next year will probably have a different coach. Plus all but 3 of the girls on the team also play travel ball. I really do not think travel ball players should play rec ball as well. Kids that really would like to play and get better can not through rec ball because the travel ball players get the infield spots.
