I searched for an answer to this question but I couldn't find one as basic as I need it! How do I add smilies to my posts other than what's above this box where it says "add smilies"? Where do I find them and how do I add them to my posts (the easiest way to do it because if it's too complicated I'll get confused! I'm not great with technical stuff... )

Thank you, Lion! I didn't even notice that "view all smilies" option! (Mostly out of curiosity -- is there a way to add others besides the ones that are available under "view all smilies" (although that's a much better selection than what I was choosing from before!)?)

Messyme, you can add any additional graphics (smilies, etc.) by downloading them to your computer and then adding them to your photobucket account (or similar account for photo storage) and inserting them as image files using the img link. This is much more complicated. You said you didn't want complicated. But I'll give you a link with instructions. Follow the same directions as for inserting photos here. If you find a smilie you like on the web AND it is copyright-free, you can save it to your computer, then upload it to your image host, then just follow those directions for posting it here.

An excellent set of smileys that are freely available can be found here : smg.photobucket.com/albums/0903/OneWayFilms/OWF%20Smilies/Check the sub-albums listed down the right hand side and be aware that some albums have multiple pages. If you click on the IMG code beneath the smiley then press copy (ctrl C) the code gets copied to your clipboard. To use it just paste it (ctrl V) into your post where you want it to appear. Edit : Doh! Got my instructions wrong, sorry! Still's instructions (next post) are clearer than mine.

I, too, struggle to do anything with my computer. The smilies that I use that are not available here I get from freesmileys.org. They have a LOT of emoticons and smilies and all you have to do is 1. find the one you want 2. under the smiley you want there will be three code choices: Forum Code, HTML Code and URL. Each is in a little box - it will be easy to see what I mean when you are on the page. Click on the code in the Forum Code box and it will turn blue. You do not need to click and drag, just click. 3. Copy the code by holding down the control key [Ctrl] while simultaneously hitting the letter 'c' 4. Go back to your post and position the cursor where you want the smiley and hold down the control button while silmultaneously hitting the letter 'v' 5. You should have 2 - 3 lines of code that, when you save your post, will turn into the smiley you chose. I hope this works for you and that you have lots of fun!
