hello board members. I live in Germany, I hope it doesn't matter I have some problems (or maybe even greater ones) with my household and found this forum over google, when I searched for Emergency cleaning tips. I still haven't read a lot here, but I hope to get the hang of the Forum in the next hours/days. Are there some threads with step by step help? Ill go looking. Bye for now...

Just want to say "WELCOME"! There are plenty of tips on emergency cleaning - I would go to the search and type in crisis cleaning. There is much help and support here from people who totally understand and are in the same situation!
OH, and there are people here from all over the world!

As you see I too am in your time zone. This is a great place, with lots of advice! "Step by step", not really, but much encouragement as you take each step! Most of us would say just start somewhere, others might say, start on the room or area that is likely to show the most improvement the fastest so that you get a feeling of success right away. Others would say, start with the room you rest/ sleep in so that at least that room is your place to "recuperate" from the rest of the house as you work on it. In any case: Willkommen!!!

Hello Astarte Welcome to the SOOS forum, I'm not in your exact time zone but just an hour behind! There's lots of encouragement and support here and plenty of ideas to get you motivated. I joined about a month ago and my house still has a fair way to go before it is really presentable, but I've been making definite and sustained progress, which is something that I never achieved before, when I was still struggling on my own. I'm sure you'll find the support you need too. Look forward to seeing you around the forum!

Welcome, Astarte!
Anyone who wishes to improve their home and learn how to not live such a messy life is welcome, from anywhere.
One reason we do not really have too many step by step instruction threads is that for each of us, the journey is different.
You might want to tidy one small area, and practice keeping it clean, then spread it out to another area. You might want to go through the whole house and get trash, then go through again and gather clothes, then again for books, or something like that. You might want to go room by room, or 15 minutes at a time, or do 3 things in a row then rest. Each journey out of the mess is different.
Jump in, read, ask questions, get cheers when you succeed, sympathy when it's hard, and work along side us.
It's good to have you here.

I really love hearing from people from different parts of the world. And finding out that we are not really that different. We all have to work on our problems, and we all do better with the help of this forum.
