Good morning, good morning, the best to you this morning. Away we go again. Eagle, it sounds as if the search part it over and ds has a new apartment. Yippee! Well done! Fingers crossed for a comfy bed on the horizon. Sunshine, my only sunshine, hooray for taking care of taxes and old photos! You are a great inspiration to me right now. I've been on the phone most of the morning, getting ducks in a row. I'm feeling much better physically each day as evidenced yesterday by my not having to lean on shopping cart to make it through grocery aisles; no more sitting on the floor and pretending to be looking for something on the bottom shelves. Heading out soon, off to start checking off my Friday list. Grrrr, computer's acting wonky and won't let me modify post. I'll have to go fix this with iPad. Hi, Sunshine, Sparkle & Step.
Encouragement to all and thank you for your kind words. Please forgive me for not being more attentive to your accomplishments today.
This has been a bad day. Son is in jeapardy of losing his one remaining foot, and I am just not taking this very well.
It started out fine. We arrived in time for the doctor's appointment. But the news went downhill from that time forward. Son does not have diabetes, as everyone always asks if he does. He does not. So doc ordered stat xray & labs, including a test for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). In the meantime we went to pick up his benefit check and it wasn't there as promised 3 days ago. Very upsetting and frustrating. Even before that we're both ready to sue parties involved with denial of treatment (for the months of May & June) which resulted in the potential loss of his foot. If he loses his foot over this, we are seriously going to act on that. I'm furious over this, as you can probably guess, he is, as well.
Then we returned to the doctor to schedule the surgery. He has to be at hospital at 8 am. I sure hope he remembers he's not supposed to eat or drink anything after midnight. His anxiety is so high, I don't think he's going to remember that. Well, we'll face that when we get to the hospital.
I can't even phone him because he has no cell phone reception in his new house, and there is no land line, either. He does plan to try and get a land line installed, using some kind of disabilty service, but that's just a thought at this point.
So, of course, I cancelled my weekend at my brother's house. It would have been nice to see 3 of my brothers at once. And I think we were going to go fishing on my brother's new boat tomorrow, too. I was looking forward to that. I haven't been on a fishing boat in years, and he bought one almost exactly like the one my second husband and I had. It would certainly bring back some very fond memories. (Part of our honeymoon was spent on that boat & it's also the boat from which I spread his ashes on the ocean that he loved.) So some memories would have been sad, but I would have a good time with my brothers, and that's what counts. Well I did call them, and wished baby brother a happy birthday.
So, anyway, right now everything is up in the air. I'm so close to tears periodically, thinking of what my son has to go through. At least I'm glad he has a place to live and won't be at a homeless shelter when he gets out of the hospital. And he has new shoes that fit properly. And he will have new leg liners soon, if we get to the prosthetics clinic appointment on Monday. Speaking of that, his leg kept coming off yesterday. It happened about 4 or 5 times while we were putting his car onto the car carrier-trailer. He really needs new leg liners.
Well, I should try and get some sleep. We have an early start tomorrow.
BTW, I still haven't stopped thinking about ways to handle the bags of trash left at his old place. Nuts, isn't it? I have way more important things on my mind than that!
I hope to see you all tomorrow sometime.

Oh, eagle! I am so sorry. I don't know what to say. Your son deserves so much better. And how heartbreaking that you have to miss this weekend. I will be thinking of you both all morning and hoping, hoping that they can save his other foot.
