I've had a problem with bed bugs. I had an exterminator in and I arranged to get rid of a sofa today. They were supposed to wrap it and when they arrived they didn't have wrapping, so I told them to just remove it.
When they were taking it out, one of the members of the co-op board saw it. He watched and after it was taken outside, he saw a bedbug and actually videotaped it.
Now I am sick to my stomach. I spoke to the super but somehow I think this is going to get back at me. Help. I live in New York City.

I am so sorry that this has happened to you. What's up with this member? vindictive or just nosey/nasty?
I think that by speaking to the super you have covered yourself in that you recognized a problem and took steps to remedy it, the fact that the movers didn't have wrapping is not a reflection of you, it's their bad business practice.

New York city has been terribly over run with bed bugs for several years now. Just a search on "bed bug infestation in NY city" brings up dozens of news articles. Stores like Nike and Victoria's Secret have been infested. You have done nothing wrong! Please don't beat yourself up. Bed bugs can and do happen to even the most minimalist clean freaks. Bed bugs were a terrible problem in the past and now they are making a come back all over the nation. You are doing things properly by having an exterminator in and disposing of a couch. Your infestation may have even come from one of your neighbors apartments and not something that you brought home. Good luck and best wishes
