Hello ladies! I'm getting caught up with this thread. Sorry I've been absent lately. Misssue, I hope you're feeling better! Sometimes the best thing to do when you're upset about something is to keep busy doing mindless tasks - such as housework or gardening. You'll have plenty of time to think things out and because housework and gardening don't require much brain power, you can get them done without much effort. Every time I go out to pull weeds, I think of my dad, who was the only male in a house with three daughters and a wife. He would go out with his old kitchen knife, lie on his side, and pull weeds by hand. I realize now as an adult that that was the way my dad allowed himself some "alone" time to think by himself, away from his whining daughters and his critical wife. He was not a violent man, but my mother could really get on all our nerves. I'm sure the weed pulling was a way for him to let off some steam and collect his thoughts. So...this weekend I thought about a lot of things while I pulled 80 lbs. worth of weeds from my front yard. (They were an eyesore and I don't like to mow over weeds that are in plain sight.) There's now (2) 40 lb. bags set out to the curb. Monday night I was looking for some dry noodles and discovered about eight packages of old peanut butter crackers and some pecan bags that had expired at least two years ago. I tossed them all into the trash. Oh yeah, I also threw out about eight pairs of old underwear! The weather down here in N. Texas is hovering near the 70s. Beautiful! I'm really starting to get spring fever. I'll post more updates as the week goes along...! I hope everyone has a great week! Little_Ninja

Thanks for posting Ninja and 60. Way to go on the weeds.. that is a lot of weeds. It was 0 here today, and now 23 degrees. I can only dream of warm weather.
Good suggestions. Ninja, I think way too much.. on a couple levels. What I have to do is fire up a sander and take the top off a dresser or table! Or hand sand.. and a client wants one of my faux vintage signs, they are on wood. I can lay that out, paint it while I watch Walking Dead.. of which I dvr'ed the whole current season 3! I like the fatalist survivor type stuff, never the zombies. I tried to watch it when it came out.. but now watched the whole first season on Netflix, I need mindless.
You and 60 inspirational outdoor workers.. I am determined this year to get the yard back in shape. I have a woods, a patio that is the length of the house, and another lot beyond the woods, like 2.80 acres. I let some of it go.. my hosta beds. I figure I have to work on it, one area at a time, and before it get too hot! Or the darn picker things take over. I had it so nice.. but it is a full time job!
As it stands BF comes back on Friday night.. 100 miles, but took 2.5 hours in traffic, and goes back Monday morning.. 2 hours. I can do that.. see what happens. One week at a time.. still new. He was here over the weekend. I can be alone. He traveled when I first met him.. and I liked that.
Must be a food day.. I went in my freezer and threw out a big load of smoothie frozen deals, event food. A things of chicken breasts from 2010. This was free food, and although the budget changed, I do not need to hoard any old food. I threw out more too, but it must of been important, because I can't remember what it was! WOOHOO is rightI threw out some old underwear too.. since I have a big bag of new, I almost forgot about. I bought when visiting my stores.. I would buy up the same ones at every store until I had a stash.
Thanks all and please post whatever one item or more you got rid of. Thank you all for the support.. we can do this, one item at time.

My freezer is nearly empty. I bought a pile of canned something a few days ago and it hasn't been fun but it was convenient to have it around. I'm tired of noodles-noodles-noodles but it does give me cans to throw out daily!
5 down, another 5 to go! Also some packaging.
I finally acknowledged I don't like rice crackers with cheese on 'em, I only like the ones with sesame. Unfortunately, that means half the box is useless. Should I set it out for crows and other birds? Big back yard trees harbor many birds. Spring is coming. Can they eat these crackers?
The more processed food I eat, the more I realize my body doesn't like it. But I've been tired a lot and just don't want to cook so much.

Food toss for me too dear 60.. I tossed some more freezer items. I cooked some salmon burgers, and either my taste has changed or the salmon did..I threw the two packages out. Toss something from fridge but can not remember what.
I ripped the sample paper folders off 25 packages of laundry soap samples I did in old job, and found the rest of the leftover ones I did before, I might have 92, a whole bottle. Free soap is good! Put those in a sturdy bag. It is one load package. Tossed some cardboard, packaging out of my laundry room.
Onward all.. anyone else toss one item! Thanks for posting!

I have not posted for a few days, and looks like no one else either. Please join in!
I got rid of some kitchen things, a weird grapefruit cutter that for whatever I hung on to, one of those as seen on TV. A box of wine in my fridge, I maybe had one glass and that was a year ago! I really don't drink. I really emptied the freezer of anything that was questionable. Smoothie mixes that are full of sugar and probably taste of the freezer. I am making progress! Every day I think what can I get rid of?

I'm going to jump in here. I threw away a pair of chore gloves today. I had ripped the finger of one glove on my dominant hand and they had laid around a couple of days, so out they went.

Yeh imamess. It think it is annoying if you put on gloves and find they are useless! Out they go!
I managed to get the trash wheelie down to the road, and it is full! I have to toss some yogurts, and not happy I did not eat them, the 39 cent kind! I always think I am going to eat them, and then I don't. Like many things I go in spurts.. but I have to stop doing that!
I got some boxes cut up and put in the recycling bin. I am sure I can get some more things together tonight and get that out before the morning pickup. It is big pickup, which is the 4th Tue of the month, but I do not think I have anything I can manage alone... Thanks all!

I got rid of a couple of things in the freezer that had freezer burn and some scraps of fabric that I saved to use in something else. That wasn't happening, so out they went.

Fantastic thread idea!!! Great job to everyone so far!
My one thing today was the cord to an electric blanket that almost burned down my house!! We still use the blanket (complete with burn holes), but the cord has been sitting on the floor on the other side of my mother's bed, ignored, for weeks. It's a big pain to get over to the side of that bed, but it was so good to get rid of that cord. Now no one will be tempted to try and plug the blanket back in!

Sorry to have missed out on this thread... see what I mean? I have difficulty tossing daily. I still want to accomplish that goal. CellyBird -- I was so happy to read that you tossed that cord!!! So, I'll attempt to get caught up. No, I did not toss every day, but most the days, I think. Mar. 6 - 53 hangers dropped off at a cleaners that takes them. Mar. 7 - 1 bag of bags dropped into bin at grocery store Mar. 8 - book into giveaway bag Mar. 9 - a pencil -- may not seem like much, but I am one who rarely gets rid of working pens and pencils. So, You know that I hated that one.... Mar 10 - another pencil & a way past its prime t-shirt of DHs Mar 11 2 bags of trash to outside can, 1 bag of recyclable bottles/cans/jars to outside can, 2 boxes to outside recycle can, 1 big bag of paper type stuff to outside recycle can. Mar 12 - 13 = Nothing. Mar 14 - 2 bags of trash to outside can -- one had been overflowing in my car. Mar 15 = shredded 66 papers, 7 papers into recycle bag Mar 16 nothing Mar 17 Rotting apple that made a big mess in the bowl on my breakfast bar. Mar 18 - 20 = nothing Mar 21 3 bags of trash to outside can, 1 bag of recyclable bottles/cans/jars to outside can Mar 22 - Mar 23 - 88 papers into recycle bag, 3 books removed from shelf in den & put in giveaway bag (that was really hard to do), 66 papers shredded (what is it about shredding 66 papers -- that was how many that I did on the 15th ) Mar 24 - 12 papers into recycle bag, 4 bags of trash to outside can Mar 25 - tossed partial bag of bread & partial bag of muffins I will try to keep up with this thread better. Having tough time with new job and its hours. CD
