Welcome to the Working in Threes (WIT) thread.
This thread is a great place to be. You can list three TODOs -- big or small or inbetween. Then you go off and do three things. It could be the three things you listed or three entirely different things, and come back and post them as TADAs.
Your list could look something like:
TODOs:
1. Log on to WITs and post 2. Take all the clutter out of the car 3. Think about taking the empty glass off the desk and washing it out and putting it away.
TADAs:
1. Perservered in finally logging on to WITs; decided to write quick welcome summary than chance trying to cut and paste the beloved and caring and supportive intro we usually use -- all these server problems today 2. Picked up empty glass, washed it, and put it away 3. Took out recycling
There's a much better explanation of WITs on yesterday's thread; I'm just doing a quick summary because of the current server problems.
Please, be gentle on yourselves. There is no right or wrong way to work in threes -- although it is really nice to acknowledge the progress and TADAs of the folks who have posted above you in the thread. We all need a little applause or WTG every so often.
...crossing fingers server problems get resolved soon...

Good morning all. Good to know it is server issues and not my computer problems.
Tadas
Doing the dishes didn't finish last night. Dishes I collected on a walk through of the house before I went to bed, not dinner dishes. Those were done already! Cat box--Brat son did not do and I could not let it get out of hand again. It is currently outside in the sun drying and after I bring that one in he can do the other one. Got youngest up, dressed, fed and to school with all his needed belongings and ON TIME. Major accomplishment for me--always late.
To dos
Make lunch for myself and my brother, the boss.
Payroll today Clear off recliner.

Good afternoon Westside and messyshelby, Today I mostly have non cleaning tasks to complete though I've decided that the floors are really looming as the next big tasks I need to deal with. They are mostly clear. ToDo: 1) buy toilet paper, also pickup newspaper 2)clean catbox (cat must have newspaper she hates the catbox unless she has it) 3)finish my photos for client and post them and get them ready for print orders. done the first two! My cat is having bladder problems again, a little bit of blood in her urine I can't afford another surgery till I get a new job, even a vet visit is a little bit out of the question.

I started today with errands:
Ta dah * Doctor visit * Pick up fixed vacuum cleaner * Target stop to pick up a few things
Got home and immediately got a call from my landlady that the plumber is coming over for the downstairs tenant and will probably be up to check on my drains. He was already on his way...
Quick clean "Ta dah"s * Looked around at what was most visible/looked worst * Put bigger items/boxes into one area of the room instead of leaving them scattered about * Picked up garbage, food, and dishes * Quick cleaned the kitchen sink- since he might have to look at that * Emptied the litter boxes * Picked up a few random things and put them all in one place * Bathroom- cleaned the sink, picked up a few random things and put them in the same place as the other stuff * Closed doors to other rooms * Decided that was "good enough".
There are some dirty dishes (big deal), a neat stack of boxes, a corner of stuff dominated by my vacuum cleaner and steam cleaner (looks like I like to clean!), stuff on shelves, dust bunnies (the dust elephants have been banished to the other rooms), and some mess. But it's not horrible.
The plumber arrived. He's downstairs now. I still don't know if he's coming up.

The plumber came up. He said he needs to replace my toilet- which was running, but I thought was fine otherwise. He's replacing it tomorrow after work. A Roto-rooter guy is coming to fix the 1st floor drain sometime which may fix my sink problem.
And the plumber didn't blink at the mess. In fact, when he said he wanted to look under the sink, I apologized and he laughed when he saw it, saying that it's a whole lot better than most he sees. It was neat with a stack of toilet paper, cleaning supplies in a neat line and a roll of paper towels. He didn't have to move anything to see the pipes.
That, of course, doesn't mean that I don't have a lot of cleaning/organizing to do, but it's "good enough"- and that's a big step.

Yay syzygy!
I need so much plumbing done, the drips are ridiculous. It doesn't help that my super always comes in, looks at the job and says he'll do it and never does. Same with the huge broken linoleum spot in the kitchen. Says he will but he doesn't. Wants the building manager to look at it and approve the expense. The building manager is a guy who I really hate and is a manipulative passive aggressive (expletive). Sometimes he's even verbally abusive. I don't actually want the guy in my house.
But eventually I've got to deal with the repairs so I'll either take some photos or let him in....sigh.

Syzygy --
I am so impressed with your quick action! Glad you were able to get things "good enough."
Greenfuzz -- maybe your landlord could be motivated by $$$. Google information about how much it costs to have leaking water and remediate mold problems. Give it to the super or him if he's in a good mood.
TADAS; 1. Went online and read info about Very Important Paperwork. Found out that I can work on it tonight as well, which takes some pressure off. Am formulating best way to write it up. 2. Made phone call re: scheduling volunteer work 3. Added scraps to compost pile and tended plants
TODOS; 1. Run downstairs and tackle that car! 2. Stop by thrift store to donate stuff on way to volunteering this afternoon 3. Have lunch and pack a sack dinner for running from one place to another.
Keep up the great work!

syzygy - great job handling the plumber!! greenfuzz - I know what you mean about the manager. I have a problem letting people into my 'safe' space - even if they are halfway decent. I can't imagine letting someone like your manager in my house! I like your idea about taking a picture. WSS - Thanks for starting the thread! I agree listing ToDo's is definitely a TaDa! messyshelby - I know what you mean with children not doing their chores. /sigh. Make sure he does one of your chores, in exchange for you doing one of his today. And make sure it is just as yucky as cleaning out a cat box! TaDa: 1. Everyone up, dressed, fed and to school on time. 2. Ran to Target, refilled meds, bought 3 items. 3. Got a good start on my home notebook I have been wanting to make. 1. Ate healthy breakfast and lunch. 2. Opened windows and blinds. 3. Took meds. 1. Put shoes and socks on. My poor feet are finally not so sore - after two good nights of sleep! But I want to baby them still... 2. Make bed. 3. Reboot laundry. 1. Dishes in dishwaser. 2. Kitchen counters wiped down. 3. Take garbage and recycling out. 1. LR & DR surfaces. 2. Sweep kitchen floor. 3. Spot mop kitchen floor. 1. Clean up LR & DR floors. 2. Reboot laundry 3. Searched the whole house looking for my insulated water cup I had late last night. The one I use daily, and is always in my hand. I cannot find it anywhere. Filled up another insulated cup - but don't like it. ToDo: 1. Vacuum. 2. Make first clutter pass at downstairs bathroom. 3. Start cleaning up bathroom vanity. Figure out where to put all the hair stuff.

Hi ya snailspace! Good job on getting groceries put away! That is one of my most hated things to do... From my previous list of ToDo's - I only vacuumed. I will wait until tomorrow to start the bathroom. It has been gross and nasty for so long, another day won't hurt. I am off and out! Have a great WITs day!

Hi everyone! Skatters it seems like you did a ton today! Everyone is doing great.
I am procrastinating on finishing my photos for this client. Perfectionism dragging me down. I did manage to contact the client and say that one of the pictures is unlikely to work and pick another one. I also reprocessed some files, blah blah. I just need to finish and what's left is not that bad.
Update:
TaDa's 1) Finished all today's dishes 2) Did most of my photos for client (must finish tomorrow that's my absolute deadline for myself) 3) fed cat and gave her medicine.
