This is propably a bug but I was wondering if someone who is more familiar with correct terminology could make the actual report??? I noticed while I was trying to write an answer in the exercise thread which included an anwer to our member Ally, her name just does not apper like it should after @ mark. In the same post I used the same code for our member razy which worked like it should. --> @ and razy = razy--> @ and Ally = @ally The forum changes Ally's name to start with lower case letter even when I write it with upper case. I tried to modify my post several times, plus tried this in the test forum , all with same results. I will come back in a second and paste a link to my original post where I first noticed this. ETA: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/post/338819/thread

ETA: No, it's working for me (using Chrome as my browser). Okay, next, maybe you could try again and if it still doesn't work, provide more information, by filling in the information below:

place URL here
2) What happened, in detail?
3) If you received an error message, what did it say?
4) What do you think should have happened instead?

7) Please attach a screen shot (JPG or PNG -- not GIF or BMP) if it is relevant.

What browser are you using? What version? What Operating System?
I also tried it in Firefox 19.0.2 and it's working for me here, too: Ally, OnTheMend, eagleI'll test it next in Internet Explorer and see what I get.

OTM, The problem is that when I first joined, I chose the name w8ing which was shortened from a name I was using on other forums: Waiting for daybreak. I originally decided that the full name was too long, but then w8ing didn't express the hope that the full name did, so one day I decided to change it to Ally. That explanation was entirely too long...
When you hover your curser over my name above my avatar, you will see "w8ing" and that is what you need to use @ w8ing.

I have Windows Vista and use the latest version of Firefox (19.0.2). Ok I noticed ally's explanation, that's propably the reason. --> @ and w8ing = Ally --> works!

Ok I noticed ally's explanation, that's propably the reason. It probably is if you are using the @ symbol instead of the icon to insert the link:
Which opens this:
When you begin to type in the users screen name (I typed All) it will bring up all names beginning with the letters you have typed so far:
Then your linked name will work, but first it looks like this before you post:
Then it looks like this after you post (or if you move from BBCode to Visual):
Ally

Thanks eagle, That was helpful. It takes a while to learn all of the features of this site. I had no idea that there was a icon for that!

In Quick Reply, you can also hold down the ALT button while clicking the person's name in their miniprofile and the tag will insert.

cute hat Celeste...say, where did you learn all of these things? Thanks BTW... Thanks, Rama. This hat is a little something I picked up in Ireland.... no, that isn't true. I just wanted to say that! I made it years ago for Squalor Survivors and dust it off once a year. I pick up a lot in ProBoards Support. Other stuff I learned in beta testing.
