Welcome to the "Whatchamacallit" Thread -- kind of a weekly blog and/or list thread.
Motivation follows Action!!!
We can *choose* to do things ... rather than feel like we should & ought to be doing them.
Feel free to join us here. There are no "rules". Post your to-dos, or your ta-das, or a sentence or two ... or whatever works for you!
You can be as chatty or as self-focused as you need to be.
Some chattily exchange comments and support, and use this as a "group action blog". They enjoy the camaraderie.
Others remain completely and quietly focused on ONLY their own tasks -- and seeming to ignore everyone else. They just need to stay focused on getting things done.
Both approaches are fine here! We have no requirements to come back and cheer each other on. Just use your own approach; and know that each participant has a different approach.
Note that some have already exchanged encouraging comments on other threads on the forums ... and are now just copying their own accomplishments from other threads here, in order to track them together.
The focus:• Tracking one's own week, while working alongside others.
... and/or ...
• Members from DIFFERENT TIME ZONES can post TOGETHER on a single thread, without worrying if you are on the "correct" day's thread.
... and/or ...
• Using it as a week-long "actions blog".
... and/or ...
• Describing only one or two days (whole week not required).
... and/or ...
• Popping in occasionally to give a random progress update. This is a week-long thread.
We intentionally make each week's thread dated "Sunday through Sunday" so that you can post however/whenever you feel comfortable -- (and you have full permission to optionally post your "Sunday tasks" on more than one thread and claim double credit!)
You might choose to list an entire week's doings. OR .... You might alternatively choose to just describe a day or two, or do a random update, or share a few highlights/struggles. Whatever works for you.
All of us are in unique situations. Some work full/part time, some don't work outside the home, some work from home, some take care of other people, some are students, some have lots of kids, some are living alone & have themselves to take care of, some folks are depressed, have ADD/ADHD --- whatever the situation is.
We all want to declutter/desqualor and/or maintain. Just do what might work for you.
Some of us just know that we do better listing Ta-das and seeing our Ta-das at the end of the day or week. Even if in baby steps... shows us that we did do something and/or are working on it.
Sometimes it can be surprising to see all you did in one day. Or sometimes, you may end your day but be able to say: "I may not have gotten much done today but I did do this ____."
HOW to post:
Any way you like! The focus is action -- post however best works for you. Some participants post to-dos.
NOTE: You don't have to post to-dos!
Some post only ta-das, and that is just fine.• Some post daily lists. • Some post weekly goals at the beginning of the week, and update as they go.
• Others post only at the end of the week -- with a list of the week's ta-das.
• Some do daily AND weekly lists. NOTE: Lists not required! • You can describe your actions/tasks in blog-like ramblings, or paragraphs, or long-winded descriptive phrasing, or just a few quick terse words ... writing however in any style you wish.
• or just randomly mention an accomplishment or two.
• Or just drop in periodically, to give an update. Some of us use the check-boxes or progress bars, but this is OPTIONAL. Some use other smileys to indicate victories and difficulties, but this is also optional. Some prefer plain text with zero smileys.OPTION: Consolidating accomplishments from other threads ...This thread can go hand-in-hand with the WITs (Working in Threes) thread, with the daily AP (Accountability Partners) threads, and also with other threads you may have posted specific accomplishments on.
It is fun to work in threes, or do daily AP lists, or post on group "topic" threads, and have the cheers and support there ... as those threads are often very supportive. And then you can come HERE to have a place to combine all those sets of threes and daily lists and special tasks ... into a single set of Ta-das to look at. Remember: this is NOT a "cookie-cutter" thread.
It is not even required to come back and cheer each other on.
No requirements at all!!!!!
Have a great week, everyone!

i didn't do anything yesterday but today I am doing laundry in my portable washer . I have hung out one load and am doing one more. I got a cool gull wing dryer on sale. it has a rod for hangers as well as the wings. Laundry is a sticking point as well as dishes and i have been putting it off for a few weeks. I was a bit worried that my new washer might leak but i think i just bumped the hose out of position when i was moving it so i have been careful not to bump it again. so far so good. I have also gone grocery shopping twice and have done one load of dishes and made chicken burgers for dinner. so that is alot compared to yesterday and i am really happy to be doing laundry. I have a pile of sheets to wash at the laundromat . I am going to bag each one so that i might decide to do one or two at a time and have them ready to go if i get the urge.

Hi Serendipity,
Great job on all you've been doing! How do you find your portable washer? We bought one a while back to use when we're away with our motor home, but have not actually used it. What puts me off is its lack of a spin function.
Ok, today I would usually be trying - emphasis on the word 'trying' - to spend some time in the master bedroom and in the dining room, but 2 other bedrooms also need attention, each for a different reason. I also told dh I thought I should start getting our motor home ready for when we take it away next weekend and he has latched on to that idea and is out at it right now as I write.
My tadas so far are: washed breakfast dishes, tidied and cleaned counter top, put 2 loads in the dryer and made 'elevenses' for dh and me. I would have put a load of towels in the wash as well but he got there before me with another small load of towels.
I'm going to join him with the remainder of my mug of redbush tea.
Will maybe post later.
Have a great day!
Gillian

Hi Gillian~ wow you are off to a great start! i find my washer great except that it stretches out the shirts when it spins . I think i can solve the problem by doing the shirts separately because the first time i did two shirts alone of my son's i am pretty sure that didn't happen. you can get a little machine that just does the spinning. It is from a place called the laundry alternative. I really like the machine otherwise. the only problem is i left the clothes out and yesterday it rained and i have alot of fresh smelling wet clothes! i really should check out the weather network everyday! that is great that you have a trip to look forward to. and i wonder what redbush tea is!
today i need to get the clothes to the dryer and this is about as far as i am thinking right now.

Sorry I didn't get back to you, Serendipity. I'm not sure I'll go looking for a portable waripsher with a spinner at this stage, although it does sound wonderful - like a portable twin-tub. I might try it for a small wash at home and put the things in the main washing machine to spin dry. The problem with bringing even a small washer is away on motorhome trips is lack of space. You do have to be careful with those spin dryers - they seem to be more powerful than the ones that are part of an automatic machine.Glad you found a solution. Redbush tea is a herbal tea from South Africa where it is known as Rooibos. Gillian

I really like that thIs thread keeps hanging around......it's not doing much but it's not giving up -just lIke us, right? I keep getting sick. i seem to get a headache every Friday night/ Saturday morning that leaves me feeling exhausted (if it doesn't turn into a full blown migraine) I spend all day Saturday doing nothing then all day sunday trying to catch up before going back to work. And I feel like a whiny brat talking about it - I should be getting on with it! And the touch screen keyboard on my tablet is driving me crazy- it keeps jumping all over the place for no apparent reason! I am going to get dressed now and put a load in the washing machine.

I want to get some stuff done this weekend along weekend for us, holiday on Monday
I have been thinking about something I read in a magazine while I was having lunch the other day. The article was claiming that *** was just a decision. I had never thought about it like that. I decide not to do things or I can't decide to do things is probably more to the point. I think procrastination is like that too, not making decisions about doing things. I know once I have decided what I am going to do it's easy to do - relatively speaking. Why don't I like making decisions? I work with CBT all the time, I should think about what's going on in my head when I'm struggling with a decision. There is definitely feelings of doubt, what ifs....then what? what if it doesn't go right? What then? I also spend so much time wondering why I don't do things instead of just doing things. It's 10.30PM I have done nothing all day, I could get a few things done before I go to bed.

By the way, there is a FREE online CBT workbook on procrastination at the website of the Dept. of Health for Western Australia. Look here: www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/infopax.cfm?Info_ID=50They also have other free CBT workbooks here: www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/consumers.cfm
