Thank you dayeanu! Trying desperately to get us ready and make the house semi-nice for my kid sitter (it is my oldest daughter however.) Plan was to leave in 45 minutes. Ummm .... I'm thinking it's going to be an hour to hour and a half. I haven't finished packing (pretty close) and also need to shower and get son back out of bed. But we're moving in the right direction. Doing pretty good under the circumstances. And glad I could get things handled for daughter w/out a trip to the doctors this am. Have a great day!

This has been an odd week. Left on Monday to visit my sister who lives in the Seattle area. Daughter with Downs who was staying home with my 24 yo daughter seemed to have pink eye. Come home Tuesday afternoon and her eye was soooo swollen. She had cellulitis. It's been a back and forth week to the hospital and doctors office. My husband was told by the doctors office to take her to the Children's hospital in Portland. They agreed on Tuesday when she went back since she would not take antibiotics we could try daily injections through our clinic. They did 2 shots in her legs at the ER on Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday at the doctors they decided they had to do 4. Obviously the antibiotics they are using is not working. Yesterday afternoon her eye was swollen up more, with yucky puss building up inside. They said we'd have to go back and have them sedate her and drain it today if it didn't drain on it's own. Well after she got up and started eating this am, it did bust open. But we still need to have her at ER to sedate, drain more and clean up. Of course dummies here we FED her. So hubby and kiddo are at the ER waiting out the time before they can sedate her which is another hour. After that draining and cleaning, I have no idea what will happen next. We really were trying to avoid hospitalization. So hard to say. Guess one step at a time. I am thankful my husband is such a good dad to her and will take her. He's the only one who can physically restrain her so they can do shots, etc.
Well I have been fiddling around with the other kids here, killing time but not focusing on any housework. I have had a headache (due to time of month) and just feeling off. But I suppose if I put things off much longer, it's not going to help. I still will have things here not getting done. Oh and to top things off, my grandmother is in the hospital too. She was admitted yesterday. I stopped in the am after work to check on her (and mostly support my mom) as they were just getting her to the ER. Still not sure what's wrong with her. I heard mumbles that maybe she had a small stroke.
Friday To Do
Unload Dishwasher & Load Check on laundry - gather dirty, sort, swap machines Fold/Hang & put away 3 loads clean laundry Empty any trash cans needed
Okay brain too fried. That's my starter list, but the laundry will be a lot of work.

Angie, I hope you had a nice visit with your sister, considering how much you've had to deal with after coming back home! Your poor daughter, that has to be painful, around her eye.

MamaAngie - I'm sending up prayers and good vibes for both your dd and your grandmother. And for other family members (including your mom) who are helping them. (And your dh sounds like a saint.)

TA DA (from 10 minute challenge thread)
Gather all dirty laundry from bedrooms & bathrooms (bet I will find some in living rooms) Rotate laundry Clear clutter from kitchen table Clear large part of clutter from kitchen counters - lots of containers that got put away in cupboard and some new bottles shampoo, etc to bathrooms Fill cereal containers (why does the same size box of Frosted Flakes fit in the large cereal keeper but the fruit loops don't all fit? Misc pick up from floor as I move through rooms (children seem to have a knack for dropping wrappers of all sorts) Round up boy - get back in house Get girl to pick up 21 train track pieces (she said she'd do 20 and then tells me, "I did one extra." She is feeling so abused that I have asked her help today. Now I just want her to play with/near her brother.) Start water/vinegar in microwave to loosen junk up so I can clean Cleaned the microwave out .... there is still a little bit of "grease" stuff on the bottom. I used a lot of the hot vinegar water to clean what didn't just wipe out. Microwave glass plate & plastic turn around thing in sink to soak More stuff cleared from kitchen counters -- they are now what I consider clear/good enough Rotated laundry Folded & put away clean comforter from dryer Bathroom trash emptied - to outside bin Desk trash & recycle emptied - to outside bins Boxes from porch broke down & to recycle Pick up tons of coloring pages from floor -tossed by son Pick up misc food stuff found on floor by TV (also son!) Folded & put away load clean towels (hubby help) Folded/hung & put away load clean clothes Wipe kitchen table Wipe kitchen counters Clean stove top (wasn't on my list, but boy it was dirty!) Clean stove guard (look forward to a day we don't need this, but my son still reaches up for the pots and pans) Swap laundry Unload dishwasher & put few dirties in Rotate laundry Fold/Hang & put away load clean clothes Fold & put away load clean linens

Well my last post I made was anticipating a really productive day for the next day. But things just fell apart. We were still dealing with our daughter and daily antibiotic injections. There was work and lack of sleep and trying to nap. And then also visits and errands for my Grandma who they put in a care facility for rehab after her hospital visit. She is in a mood because she thinks she should be home and back to her apartment by this Friday. But not sure if they're going to let her go then. And of course she is blaming my mother. *sigh* Anyway I had a long work week ..... 5 days work, 1 off and then worked 3. Now I am on day 1 of a 5 day break. I wanted to be home the first couple days my girls went back to school while we work on building our school routines again. Too bad our son doesn't start school for another week. Feed 3 kids 2 lunches packed Pack up school supplies for teenager (other kid already got supplies dropped off at Open House night) 2 kids dressed, hair done, fed and out door Gather all dirty laundry in house & sort Rotate laundry 1st time - K's clothes to dryer & bedding to washer Rotate laundry 2nd time - bedding to dryer & darks #1 to washer Unload dishwasher, load & start Put away misc from kitchen counter - extra dishes left last time, groceries Wash cutting board Empty kitchen recycle Empty bathroom trashUnload dishwasher when done running Wipe down kitchen counters Sweep kitchen floor Mop kitchen floor Clear all clutter left on kitchen counters Wipe refrigerator shelves
Laundry laundry laundry!!!
Enter 2 weeks receipts in checkbook & balance Look at budget - don't think I have to pay any bills until next week Make Thirty One order (sister sells and I'm so glad I waited until September to buy. CUTE CUTE new stuff!)
Bag up school supplies for son (doesn't start until next week but want to remove my box of stuff sitting in entry way) Recycle stuff to outside bin --- large box, packing materials from Amazon order Hang up #1 girls school clothes (did #2 girl last night) Purge clothing for all 3 kids (seems like I just did this but I know there are more worn and/or outgrown items to pull)
Probably more things to do. But this is my starter list.

Hi Angie! A five day break, how wonderful! And I'll bet it feels good to get at least the two kids back in school. Your son is the youngest, right? Is this his first year in school?
What is Thirty One?

Diane .... Thirty One is thirtyonegifts. If you search online, it'll bring you to their website. They sell mostly bags, totes, thermal totes, etc. I have a lightweight tote I use as a purse that's reversible. Also I have some large utility totes for my car. And a thermal one we have used on car trips.
Yes my son is the youngest. He is 3. He did start preschool right after his birthday in the Spring since he does qualify for services with some delays still in speech. He had to qualify in 2 categories to be placed in preschool. They have some silly tets and since his scores were low enough in social play, he gets to go. It is really good for him. He still is sort of at that level where younger kids are where he'll play near other children, but not so much interacting and play/sharing. This year will be his first full year. Also a new school. They revamped their program starting this year, adding 2 new schools and taking away the old center he was at. They locate the preschool classes within 4 different Elementary schools in the area. So he rides the bus to and from school. His school is brand spanking new! The elementary school burnt down at the beginning of last school year and so those kids were placed in temporary classrooms scattered around the district last year. But school is all built now and opened up.
The break is really needed! I had 4 days off just a couple weeks back but we spent 2 of them on the road traveling to see my sister and then had to deal with the eye infection with the older kiddo.

Yesterday we did some major room rescuing before having an appointment at the house. It was a long day ..... not enough sleep, some sketchy naptime and then up late again. But we did get a lot done in a short amount of time. I know I am going to be dragging today. I was happy with how much I got cleaned up in regard to the kids play room aka the family room. After work (and possibly a nap), I need to focus on these things this afternoon.... maybe some of my ideas will flow over to the weekend tho.
LAUNDRY Fold & put away clean comforter Fold & put away load clean linens Fold & put away load towels #1 Fold & put away load towels #2 (need to put in dryer) Fold/Hang & put away load darks Wash more laundry
KITCHEN Dishes Clear clutter from top of fridge (it's mind boggling!)
PAPERWORK Enter receipts in checkbook & balance Bills? Work on paper clutter on desk Paper clutter in bottom desk drawer (from a stashing)
PURGE, SORT, DECLUTTER, DECRAP, TOSS, etc Sort box of "NOT THIS ROOM!" gathered from family room yesterday - lots of toys for 8 yo's room Look thru toys - find missing animals for megablocks set gave to co-workers' daughter (yes both parents work here together) Take donation boxes from entry to van Work on book purge for 8 yo - move books she is keeping to book shelf in family room

MamaAngie don't worry things will turn up when you least expect them. Don't you love the don't belong box. Amazing that are items migrate like birds.
