keep all things breathing in my house alive.Yep, if you can at least say this the day wasn't a complete disaster! Two days off, I hope they are both productive and restful. Diane Diane .... the truth for sure! If they're all fed and taken care of, it's a job all in itself. So far this morning Monday I have gotten little bits done. Diswasher unloaded, loaded & run Chocolate chip muffins made Black beans in crockpot for black bean burgers Black beans & chicken in crockpot for dinner Zucchini shredded for zucchini muffins All dirty laundry in house gathered Machines swapped Load clean sheets folded & put away, along with clean extra mattress pad Load clean clothes folded/hung & put away Breakfast dishes cleaned up Misc bowls & cups found (mainly K's room) gathered up Receipts entered in checkbook & balanced K's floor quick swept (hand broom to get up tons of pretzels dumped on floor) As Monday continued, these are the rest of my s Washed a couple loads laundry Fold/Hang & put away 2 more loads laundry Fold & put away clean load towels Packed up black beans to make burgers later Made 3.5 dozen zucchini muffins (some in freezer and some being taken to Mom and Gma today.) Showered (late in day but hey ...... it was still done and an accomplishment) Bath Little J Unload dishwasher, load and run again It feels like I did a lot more, but when I look around the house at the chaos, maybe not. Guess doing dishes twice, 4 or 5 loads of laundry and cooking is quite a bit and wore me out. Oh and J said the sweetest thing yesterday. He's 26 months old and has some speech delay. We have a teacher that comes weekly and a speech therapist once a month through the school district. His speech has been exploding the last month. He said, "You pretty" to me after I was out of the bath and brushing my hair, touching my hair. It was so sweet!! I told him the same thing and then he repeated about 3 more times. Melts my heart, especially hearing him using more words.

Wow, I'm coming over for dinner! Black bean burgers (they sound vegetarian, right?) and zucchini muffins...YUM!
You're doing pretty good if you can cook and bake from scratch--I feel like it's a big accomplishment to steam frozen veggies!

I have not made them before, but decided with the amount of black beans that I soaked the night before I had to do something else with them other than "black beans." We had the chicken with black beans and so that could be too much just "bean" for my family. I found a recipe for the burgers that looks good. My oldest daughter and her boyfriend are vegetarian. We are not, but I do try to convince hubby that you don't have to have MEAT in every meal. So this will be a test to see what him and the kids think. I am sure that 1 kid will try and 2 others will look at it like it's something dead on their plate and poke at it. Thank you Diane.

You know, you can freeze the cooked beans and use them later--when I cook beans in my crockpot I always make a lot and freeze in smaller containers. I do that with everything, rice, pasta, etc. Of course, in the hot weather I don't use the crockpot much at all, so I use canned beans during the summer.
2 others will look at it like it's something dead on their plate and poke at it.
That's funny, especially since if it were meat, it WOULD be something dead on their plate! Sorry, a little vegetarian humor(?) there!
Let me know how the recipe turns out! I haven't made any vegetarian burgers from scratch for many years, I think I stopped when I started eating less fat, since the recipes I had that worked well had to be fried in a decent amount of oil. For a while I ate very low fat but have relaxed that in recent years (to the detriment of my waistline!)

I guess with what I want to use them for it wouldn't matter if they were mushy. And as for the dead on the plate, these girls are picky. And they are not big on any meat, other than chicken. *sigh* The boy (2) is still all about "food! Cool!" Fat content and portions need to be reduced in the household here, for me and hubby at least. Things have gone downhill. I had lost a lot of weight when pregnant with J. And then lost another 30 last year doing WW. And alas I gained back about 30! For me, it's one more thing I just need to say "I am doing this!" And then just stick with making meal plans, etc. I will get stuck in eating the same thing for lack of time and effort of figuring out what else works and then get bored. (And tempted by all the junk food.)

TERRIFIC TUESDAY!! Why is it terrific? Because I am usually working but have this morning off. Worked Sunday though and I work this coming Sunday. So it all balances off. No days off .... just 5 days instead of 6. So I don't have a full plan for today other than I know I want to visit my grandmother and would really like to start working on making my cards for the swap at conference in July. I need 41. I have an idea of what I am doing, but need to work on my design and make the first card. Oh boy! Mom already has 30 of her 41 cards made and here I sit, "Yep .... gonna do that." Biggest challenge is working on crafting cards with KIDS underfoot. Lil' J always wants up on my lap or desk. Princess E wants to make cards also but I can't just set her up with stuff and say "go!" because she still needs help. Plan is to figure out what I need and take to my mom's. She probably has almost everything I need there but definitely want to take my own consumables (paper, glue, ink.) Guess for now I'll list what I get done. I seem to be frozen and can't come up with a TO DO. Unload Dishwasher & load dirties from last night into dishwasher Hand wash rice pot & crockpot Unload Dishwasher, Load (ready to run once breakfast dishes are in) Hand wash rice pot and crockpot Make waffles for breakfast (and to go in freezer) - still in progress Get dressed Wash K's hair Start K's sheets in washer Bring trash & recycle cans up from road Empty bathroom trash Make 3 new file folders for school / IEP / IFSP type papers for all 3 kids Sort through papers in 1 misc folder in file drawer & file appropriately (kids folders & some recycle) Empty another "to file" file folder (had a bunch of these folders on my desk in holder until 2yo got into emptying. Now in drawer and out of sight even more! sigh) Empty misc "medical file" and file into separate peoples folders (I probably have things I don't need. But like to keep some stuff and can sort another time.) Made a bunch of new file folders for a variety of items Shredded a ton of old bank statements, pay stubs, etc. 1 full bag. Would've done more but think I exhausted the shredder. It was warm and unresponsive. Sorted one small drawer of papers (these were on my desk and got shoved there a week ago. Glad I went thru as I found paper to call in for kids' insurance. Have to do before 7/31 and I always put it off and forget!) Started sorting old coupon inserts (had 1 magazine holder full) - tossed quickly inserts from March & April Took closer look at inserts ... flipped thru random inserts and tossed mostly, pulling out a good coupon here and there Sorted what was left of inserts into piles by date (usually grab 3-5 inserts each week from work) Clipped some coupons --- put 7 yo on clipping some and hubby clipping a bunch he printed for us --- Yea!!! Magazine holder is EMPTY, recycle bin is FULL and I have a fat envie of coupons!) Unloaded dishwasher & loaded few dirties from lunch in Made remaining waffles and put in freezer Unpacked Emmy's backpack Rewashed Katie's sheets -- pooey stain from last night. First round didn't work. Tossed the bleach directly on and put on an extended run. Now drying Katie's duvet cover washed & dried Katie's comforter to washer Cleaned out 2 medicine cabinets - tossed about 6-7 old meds, including 1 old pregnancy test (unused) Cleaned up meds from kitchen counter (left Tylenol and Advil as these are used regularly) - put all away in med cabinets in bathrooms. Last round of colds had brought out about 6 bottles of kids cold meds and 3-4 adult.) I feel like there are things I'm missing. But this is a pretty good representation of what I got done, in between playing with kids and farting around on computer.

Hey, I would have read your post! You don't need to enable drafts before each post, just go to your profile, click on the EDIT button on the right hand side, then click on the SETTINGS tab. There's an option to enable drafts, and that way if you lose your post a window will pop up asking if you want to save the draft that it automatically saves for you.
I'm sorry you only have one day off this week, I'll bet it'll fly by, too. I hope you're getting some rest in as well as work.

I'm sorry you only have one day off this week, I'll bet it'll fly by, too. I hope you're getting some rest in as well as work. Diane Thanks Diane. Well I was babbling a lot, as I often do. Anyway yesterday didn't go quite as planned. I went to visit my Grandma before it got extremely hot here. Then dealt with car issues. Hubby went to check the battery on his van, then decided he was good to stop at the bank and the van wouldn't start. So I had to load all 3 kids into my van, 90 degrees and no working a/c in the van right now. *sigh* They were all crabby. Brought hubby back home. He had someone come and help him tow it home later. So the starter it the problem, which they've ordered the part but it won't be in before Friday. So we will deal with just one vehicle until probably Sunday or Monday. Good thing we work opposite shifts. Just means I am stuck here in the house with the kids once he leaves so I really have to plan well. My daughter's FIL-to-be will do the repairs this weekend for us. Well after all that, I just had no desire to work at my desk or do laundry. We ate some drunken gummi bears, an experiment I had been wanting to try. And then had a drink at dinner, which we never do. Well that was it. No work here for me. Today has been similar. My accomplishments are not huge. Worked 3-9. Took a nap from 1-4:30. Got the dishes done and a little picking up. Got 7 yo working on trash duty .... brought cans from road and took some recycle out for us. She's all about "doing chores" this week so we'll roll with it! I just got done cleaning up 250+ emails! I am always checking my email multiple times a day and I guess I hadn't been in it for days. My gmail sorts "important" and other, so the "other" had over 250. There were some important things there, but a lot of stuff I don't need .... daily good deal emails, sales for this and that store. Found some important emails for our convention and got signed up for the bus tour. Got my new prepaid AMEX card activated and accounts linked. And got a mandatory survey done, which I had been having troubles with for 2 weeks. Finally it went through. The next 2 weeks will be long at work. But this week is going to fly because we are so busy. I probably will probably bring in $30-40 in commissions easy this week. Hoping I have some more energy tomorrow when I first come home and get some things going early.

Feel like I'm just surviving when I'm home. I am so tired and have no energy or desire to do anything. Making a TA DA this evening as I do stuff, just so I can feel like I accomplished something today.
Work 3 am - 9 am Grocery shop after work (went for 3 things, came out with 46) Kept all that complain alive and fed in house Have 7 yo gather any dirty dishes in various rooms Dishes Have 7 yo bring her dirty laundry to laundry room Pick up dirty laundry found in living room Emptied kitchen recycle Put our comforter in wash (been using a smaller one 2 days when I found a kid had peed on it a couple nights back) Emptied kitchen trash Sliced kiwi and soak in vodka and freeze (hubby requested) Tear up 2 heads lettuce Get 7 yo to put lettuce into mason jars for salads in fridge Slice cucumbers for kids Rinse grapes ... some for kids and rest to fridge Pull out 1 shelf / drawer to clean out from fridge and remove all items --- toss bad stuff Drawer washed with soapy water, dried and put back Glad shelf washed with soapy water, dried and put back Rim of shelf wiped and bottom of fridge and inside of door wiped ---- Fridge still has 2 shelves and the door shelves that need clean. But it's a work in progress I guess. Have 7 yo take recycle out to bin (I had left at door since 2 yo was on my heals earlier. She is enjoying doing small chores and marking off on her chart.)
Seems like I was going and going the last 2 hours. While trying to fix dinner for kids, work on produce and then decided I needed to clean out that drawer and shelf that the produce was shoved into, I also had to keep up with the monsters. 2 yo climbs on desk and throws all my papers down. I had a small stack of coupon inserts, I think 3 sets from this Sunday to cut up, a couple bills and receipts to take care of tonight. Gather those back up, put aside and then I find him later with my card holder from my purse and all my credit cards, ID, etc. *sigh* I'm tired. I feel too tired to even do the bare minimum evening stuff but I guess I have to. Going to get these kids all into bed in the next 30-45 minutes so I can get in bed by 9:30. Another fun morning at work tomorrow am which starts at 3 am.

Hi MM, sounds like you didn't have a very restful holiday. You still managed to clean portions of the fridge! When is your next day off? Diane I am happy for what I did yesterday. Today I didn't do much. After work, I got the dishes done. Puttered around and picked up little bits of stuff. 7 yo is enjoying helping, so I give her small tasks when she seems willing. I fed the crew lunch and dinner and took 2 naps. haha! The 2nd one was not restful. Little guy slept really late, so I laid down with him. I counted between the 2 girls and the cat, the door opening (and being left open) at least 9 times. Next day off is Sunday. Then I work another 6 days. My regular schedule should be 5 days, and only about 31-33 hours. But since we have so many vacations to cover, I have been getting a 6th day every couple of weeks and still under 40 hours. After next week I think I have Sunday off. Work the 15th-16th and then have 5-6 days off for vacation. (unsure if I'll get the 6th day. I often work Monday's even though it's my day off.) I will be heading to Salt Lake City on the 17th and coming back the morning of the 21st. Hubby is going to have his hands full for 4 full days with the 3 wild beasts. Oldest daughter and her boyfriend will be here one night to take care of them while he works so I guess he'll get that break. (going to work ... haha!) Oh I did convince hubby this am that it was a really good time for him to go mow. It really was though .... coolest day we've had in a week or so. And he was motivated to not have the weeds catch on fire from the pyros in the neighborhood tonight.

Today was not too busy at work. Friday's are usually hectic and beginning of the month. But I think with the holiday and so many people out of town, we were not as bad off. I was glad since we were down 1 person today due to vacation. Seems our house has picked up a mild stomach virus. I thought it was just me last night, but then come home and talk to hubby and he had it too. And then the 2 yo .... ugh, took his diaper off, got all over himself and tried to clean his hands on a bedroom door before we found him. yuck! A couple people at work have it too. And at hubby's work, he said 6 people have called in sick due to the virus. OH well .... by the time I realized I had a bug, it was too late. I had already been to work yesterday and today. I left 1 hour early though which was good. Took a 3 hour nap today, and boy did I need it! Only got 2.5 hours last night due to the horrible fireworks escapades of the dozens of neighbors blowing things off until midnight. Hubby said there was someone still doing them at 2 am when he came home. I'm just glad I didn't hear them since I was still trying to snooze through my alarm then. So the stomach thing isn't horrible, but it's left me blah and not feeling like doing much. Need to get a few things done tonight. I will be working towards a 10 pm bedtime for the kids tonight. With the late night last night and my 2 yo having a late nap, I don't see 8:30 or 9 happening. So I have 3 hours. Dishwaher - unload and load Kitchen recycle - have 7 yo take out to bin 15 Minute Toy Purge Fold 1 basket clean clothes & put away -- 2 baskets towels Get coffee ready in machine for am Find clothes for work Bathe kids Shower me (saves time for the early am) Empty bathroom trash Put clean sheets on dd#1 bed Not on my original list s Clear some clutter from top of fridge - 2 old pencil cups that were for 7 yo's desk. They didn't work for her ~ took up too much space and youngest always dumping everything out. Could've donated, but just need to get rid of. If I waited for my boxes (in the back of my van at work with hubby), then I probably wouldn't remove for many days. Some random pens, pencils and strange eraser kiddo won't use in pencil cup tossed. Found a very old banana. Here's the problem with the bananas. Daughter with Downs likes them. But sometimes she opens them, takes one bite and then tosses them in trash .... in her room! I try to give her half a banana at a time and keep the peel for kitchen trash. So sometimes the bunch of bananas gets tossed on top of fridge so she's not opening and tossing 3-4 a day. Well you guessed it .... one lonely banana had got left up there. I can't see top of fridge. Hubby piles anything he doesn't want kids to get on top of fridge. So completely out of sight. Found my baking rack, which is an item 2 yo liked to remove from baking sheet cupboard and throw in kitchen. Also tossed out a box of filters for fish tank which we got rid of 6 months ago. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The night is coming to an end. 9:45 and I need to get all 3 kids teeth brushed and get them tucked in. I guess I'm showering at 3 am because I didn't get done sooner. I did get the joy of cleaning poop out of the tub from the 2 yo. Yea! And then found that my dryer has a problem when I was going to put my load of darks in. Thankfully I have 3 loads of clean clothes I washed yesterday and got the towels done. It was HOT and SMELLED. Hubby says he'll check the vent and see if it needs cleaning. But I am thinking I will be needing to call the repair guy. One more thing to my list of junk I don't really have the $ for or want to pay for. Mom asked if hubby could stop in afternoon to let her dog out as they're out of town for 8 hours again tomorrow. Well our window is getting smaller and smaller. I'm off work at 12pm. He was asked to come in 2 hours early, plus needs to pick up our car part (daughter's FIL will come repair on Sun.) So now it looks like I'll be home at 12:15 and he'll leave at 1.
