Hi there SheCanAndWill Hope that all is well with you and your family and that the appointment is just routine. Been having a bit of trouble staying the course with the laundry but things are nowhere near as bad as they have been in the past. I haven't been around much lately but I do come by to see how things are going for you and the others working in the laundry thread. I'm glad to see you sticking to your plan and moving towards your goal. Well done to you my friend! No time tonight for laundry here tonight but I plan to return and get back in the swing tomorrow if I don't get the appointment I'm waiting for. No matter what I'll stop by to say hello. TTFN

I just replied in another thread where the poster asked how many sheets and towels to keep. I thought I would share my reply here since it could decrease your amount of laundry.
I have two sets of sheets per bed. When I strip the beds and wash the sheets, they go right back on! The spare set is stored within each bedroom, not the linen closet. I have at least 2 quilts per bed - two beds have plaid patchwork quilts each, 3rd bed has a floral patchwork quilt. I also have Christmas quilts for each bed which I use from Nov. 1 to Feb. 1. I have a flannel blanket stored in each bedroom with the spare set of sheets.
Each bed has 2 bed pillows and a spare set is in my walk-in closet. If I didn't have that nice size closet, I would store each pillow in a bedroom or have no spares at all.
If you ever consider getting new towels/wash cloths/dish cloths for the bathroom or the kitchen, let me suggest getting white ones for all. I recently read an article describing the one trick a woman used to reduce the amount of laundry. She doesn't need to have a large supply of towels and cloths like she previously did because she can make a load anytime of white underwear, bath towels, kitchen towels, kitchen&bath cloths. She uses bleach in those white loads.
In a different article regarding having no room for linen storage, a woman kept the spare set of sheets for each bed between the mattress and box springs, in flatter folds, of course.
When our son was still living at home + we had an adult nephew living with us, I had my husband place a towel rod on the back of each of their bedroom doors. Hubby and I used the towel rods in the bathroom and the two "boys" simply took their towel with them when they went to shower, then hung it in their room to dry. I placed a fresh hand towel in the bathroom daily - to be used after using the toilet and washing/drying hands. That kept the towel laundry under control. After all, their bodies are clean when they are drying after a shower. Those were washed and replaced weekly.
Hoping something I've shared will help. CF

~ I don't think my laundry can be decreased. The towels are hung here and reused 2-3 times per person. (except sometimes my kids are super forgetful and don't hang theirs up or I forget to do for them.) I have 5 people in my house, children ages 4, 9 and 16. The 16 yo child is special needs and so we have bedding issues/wetting at night. Even with pullups, she generally has a wet bed every morning. Some mornings it's dry. Some days she goes and lays in it in the daytime and wets also. So that is a load for sheets/underbed pad (keeps the mattress from getting wet and soaks up the pee) and a small comforter. The clothing I am just waaaaaay behind on from working 6 days a week, not sleeping more than 4 hours on a work night (hence no energy to do laundry) and then we tend to get wrapped up in just doing the 2 loads of bedding each day and let the clothes pile up. For the rest of our beds I only keep 2 sheets per bed, so one can be washed and the other on the bed when they get changed. I used to have tons for all beds, but found it was useless as you only need 2 each.
