This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Thanks Skatters, wantinmore, I have also sprinked cleaner on the tub, so I will certainly clean it cause I need a bath. REading what you wrote made me do it. Woke with a headache today and my right arm hurts from scrubbing. Also there's some kind of strain in my palm. Today will be a day of very light work. Tada's: applied for one job cleaned out the inside of the oven. (the only reason I did a non-visible cleaning task is the last time I used the oven some stuff on the bottom smoked up the whole house) made tea and took meds, ate something sprinkled ajax on the tub To Do's: clean the tub, does not need to be perfect give cat her pill (she's had her drops already) take serious bath cook a batch of seitan maintain cleaned areas, ie. dishes, rangetop, desktop , countertop Ps guys I'm scared of how much maintenance I have now. I realize in my life I've never really cleaned my range top after cooking. That was like some task that someone else was supposed to do (even though I've lived alone). Or that didn't really need to happen. Also the irony of cleaning the inside of the fridge (which was a warzone) and defrosting (which was an iceberg) is that the front of the fridge door is still dirty and smuged. It's covered with flat magnets and ill advised stickers etc. Another day I have to deal with that. Anyway when I open the fridge I'm blinded by the gleaming brightness of it's gorgeous cleanliness. Thank god for SooS and Listzilla btw, thanks for you all for being there.

Well done everyone on your TADAs!! And good luck with your TODOs!! It was sunny here today too, but not particularly warm! Autumn has well and truly begun!! TADAs: Showered and washed hair. Cleaned toilet. Found dirty clothes strewn around living room and bagged up all the washing. Went to launderette. TODOs: Tumble dry all that washing. (ploughing through it steadily!) Help DD get showered. Spend 15 minutes decluttering living room.

Woot Woot tnfirefly....eating on a clean dining room table will be fantastic...
Hey greenfuzz....from what i understand maintenance becomes second nature after a while....try not to freak out. After all...wiping down a clean stove top has got to be easier than cleaning out an entire fridge and you were able to tackle that. You're doing awesome!!!
tadas....through the help of "chat" scrubbed out shower cleaned out toilet wiped down bathroom counters AND cleaned bathroom mirrors vacuumed bathroom vacuumed bedroom
todos... sweep kitchen floor clean off dining room table..(thanks tnfirefly) maybe vacuum rug downstairs

All done for now. I actually feel like I have accomplished something when I felt so overwhelmed this morning. I am very grateful for this site. Of course, the house is no where near clean, but the sink is empty and I have clothes to wear to work and the trash is out of the house. Very nice.
