Djollydjolan, my sympathies are with you re: your dad & yourself. Oh & mancreature's sensitivities to you glaring at him. I do hope everyone is feeling better soon. Hooray for persevering with the sucky machine.
CanDo, I don't know how I'd be able to keep up with all the band practice and scouts and vet's appts. You have such a full life. I used to sleep in the car when I took my son to ball practice. I worked nights back then so I missed all that stuff during the day by sleeping through it.
Udderchaos, I love that you gave me a new word to learn. Doona. I also love Google because it helps me to learn new things.
Gringa, you made applesauce? Wow. As a child, I recall visiting relatives who made applesauce from scratch. I was enthralled by the process. And their house and their yard and their critters. They had an apple orchard, pet peacocks, and a fireplace in almost every room of their farmhouse. Your post stimulated childhood memories. Thank you.
Annie, you got a lot done, too. Getting the kids to complete their homework is a big accomplishment, in my book. I am amazed at the amount of homework my granddaughter had every day even in kindergarten. I believe these kids have the opportunity to become so much better educated that I at that age. But I certainly feel for the working parents.
Celeste, I'm glad to read that Mom is happy with the friendly folks. It's good there are people with whom she will be able to socialize. I hope your dad feels some relief as well.
