Cheers to everyone for still being here and washing, or if you're not washing, at least reading, and thinking about it!
I loaded and washed a load of dishes this morning at 4 or 5 am. (Woke up at 3).
This afternoon I cleaned out the refrigerator. Boy was that grim. It was crammed full of food and had not been cleaned out in I don't know how long. It was starting to smell.
I didn't *feel* like doing it.
BUT it was starting to slap me in the face with an unpleasant odor every time I opened the fridge door.
AND there was no room to put food away in there.
AND there were no clean storage containers.
AND I had three partially empty trash bags sitting around the kitchen.
AND tomorrow sometime before daylight is trash pick up.
AND for my job last night I was sent to a different really boring meeting and had one remaining report to write. (Structured procrastination.)
And probably all the stars were aligned just so.
So I pinned my ears back and plowed into it. Gross and nasty stuff. But it's all been tossed now, and I have another load of dishes to wash. Really, that I MUST wash. (Holding nose while typing.)

I did my few dishes. Was taken to lunch so no dishes and McDonald's for dinner so none. Just breakfast bowls and cups,a pan and all done. Then cleaned table and did kitty litter...my evening routine. .

I put away the clean dishes this morning. I got up before 3, finished writing that report I had procrastinated doing, and unloaded the dishwasher.
Will be starting on the nasty stuff next (it's currently sitting on the tailgate of my truck! Oh the benefits of life with no neighbors.)

oh dear, I have gotten very behind in my dishwashing efforts and the kitchen is a mess! I did one lot before I went to bed last night and I'm going to go and make a fresh start now - I like what jendela said about not wanting to wash up, but wanting a clean kitchen - thats me exactly! I hate walking into the mess of a morning, it's not a good way start the day and I have realised that often I buy takeway because the kitchen is a mess and I just don't want to make more mess by cooking. OK, heading in now...

I'm now washing the really nasty dishes that were involved in the refrigerator clean out incident yesterday evening! Cheers to everyone who's washing!!!!

I'm so proud I could bust my buttons! We've had an outbreak of cockroaches in the building. I've seen them down in the basement but not in my apartment. Last week, the pest control guy came through and set sticky traps under my kitchen sink. He came by again today to check... nope, not a single thing in them. My under-sink area is as clean as my shiny sink. May it always stay that way! A year ago, (pre-SooS) that under-sink area was a horrible jumbled mess. No bugs that I knew of, but I would have been so mortified to have the guy open the cabinet doors. But not anymore, thanks to the ripple effect of this dish-washing thread.

Well done papermoon, I love the *ripple effect* too. I was leaning over the sink when my earring fell out and disappeared straight down the drain. Luckily the under sink area was cleaned recently. It was quite a simple procedure to retrieve my earring with DH's help.

[/img] cando Dit jendela dayeanu Lostchild Louie papermoon Thank you for being here amazing people - honest enough to own up to your reality, and face it too. I let go of my a time to wash dishes mantra last night so will need go do them so I can get my day underway. I will post when I do. I'll be away for the weekend ... keep busy in the sink in the mean time to avoid the chaos I need fix - The idea of fixing iy is worse than the effort it will take to catch up. I'm also needing to pack my breakfast and other needed supplementary items to go. Maybe that impost slows my day - when I need keep moving.

thanks jendela. Just easy does it. Make a little start and keep at it daily and you will get there. Look at papermoon's blog from the beginning and you will see how she started building good habits to a great apartment.
