Put in a few more dishes in, and the dishwasher is running now. Fridge is back in place, and seems to be working fine. My kitchen is somewhat disastrous with all this moving and cleaning of the refrigerator. We got takeout one night, and I went to a friend's last night. I just haven't wanted to cook or clean with the food downstairs and a fridge in the middle of the kitchen. So the not-cooking has counteracted the not-cleaning to a great extent.
Also got the tools and the chair out of the kitchen … need to get the 2x4's out of there, too. Defending my clear kitchen floor!

After today's breakfast dishes, I also washed the slimy vegetable crisper from the fridge. Liquified cucumber, anyone?

I'm joining this list. Now that I have moved and no longer have a dishwasher, and things have changed. I used to leave my dishes until morning, and cleared them/ loaded the d/w around 6 AM, waiting for my coffee water to boil. But here, with kitchens on adjoining walls, I can hear the neighbours doing their dishes, so I don't want to do them early now, so my plan is to do them by 9PM (unless I work in the evenings). I will also collect the kitchen garbage and get it down the chute at the same time, nightly. So for tonight - sinks scrubbed, dishes washed (air drying), garbage tossed, new bag in can, and counters wiped. Made fresh ice cubes, and now my hot chocolate reward.

10 years ago I moved to a house with a dishwasher. I was SO happy. 6 months ago I moved to a home without a dishwasher and I considered it one of the main downsides of this place. But I've been surprised to discover that I rather enjoy doing the dishes. Living alone, it often took several days to need to run the dishwasher, so my favorite dishes were often in there dirty, just waiting. Now, I can wash things sooner, and I can always use my favorites.
