I got to bed nice and early, but left dishes in the sink! The horror. Must get DW loaded and running ASAP.

Excellent job, everyone!
(Especially Wynken, for enforcing screen curfew.)
I emptied the dishwasher first thing when I got up this morning, so it was extra easy to load the dirty dishes today.

Forgot to post last night.
Today's dishes (Monday) - DONE
GRyPiT (Monday) - DONE
Maintenance of cleared counters - remaining @ 88% (flotsam and jetsam still waiting patiently)
I did not post Sunday because I didn't do the dishes. I did, however, remember the lessons from last weekend so I put all dirty dishes in the sink and completed GRyPiT (defeating all or nothing thinking). Only had some dirty dishes to wash Monday morning which I did.

Washing up from Tuesday done. Yes to gracious - jumping straight back in the next day will keep on top of the all or nothing thinking.

I did the dishes. There weren't many. I find that now I'm doing dishes, I'm more careful about keeping trash in the kitchen area thrown away, and just general straightening up of the kitchen. It's. It really so much a conscious thought, it's more a mindless reaction to things out of order.

Its the new normal dayeanu. A shift in the unconscious thinking patterns. We still need to attend to the doing of it though. To allow the needed action to happen in a timely fashion. Great progress

To allow the needed action to happen in a timely fashion. Just what I've been thinking about wynken. I seem to have "the needed action" part becoming increasingly more consistent but certainly not the "in a timely fashion" part. I find myself doing dishes between 9 PM and 2 AM far too often. I'm thrilled I'm persistent about doing them but the time I choose to do them wreaks havoc with my sleep schedule. I'm considering a "dishes curfew". May have to be gentle with myself at first - say midnight - then work my way backwards toward a much more reasonable hour. Your wisdom always makes me think and is much appreciated. Today's dishes - DONE (at an unreasonable hour) GRyPiT - DONE Maintenance of cleared counters - 90% I worked a great part of today on clearing some additional counter space. This section of counter had papers/paperwork on it from Spring, 2011!!!! Each time I work on clearing additional counter space I think of you papermoon - the RIPPLE EFFECT of done dishes and a clean sink. Incredible concept.

I started with a midnight curfew on jobs gracious - and found I'd still have timed challenge to get them dishes done. Gradually I got earlier with that. Especially when I put in a screen curfew. And that started later too. I can break that one for a movie I want to watch, but I really need to check finishing times at the beginning. Admitting - there is not much of a ripple effect happening here. Though I have kept them up while I've needed to do a special care number on looking after myself.

I posted a while ago, but apparently it didn't show up yet.
I find that I tend to do more dishwashing late in the evening, 10-12, when I should be unwinding and getting ready for bed. (sometimes even later - 2-4 am).
I do load and hand wash a lot of them after meals, unless I go to town, as that is usually a long trip.
Last night I did all the dishes and put away everything that could be put away. Apparently DGS came in after I had gone to bed, and got a glass of milk. When I got up this morning, there was a glass with milky water in it, sitting in the sink!
YAAAAAY!!!!!

I'm so excited! Only 1 more week to go! dayeanu ~ By now, doing the dishes has become a relaxing thing, and therefore the evening wash-up IS part of my winding-down routine. It's naggingly stressful to go to bed with dirty dishes still in the sink, but absolutely blissful when the sink and counters are completely clear and clean. You're getting there, you'll see.
