Cleared out all cleaning products from under kitchen sink. Left the ones I use daily/weekly. I have put the rest in a box in my laundry. If I don't go looking for them, I will toss out. Emptied my utensil drawer into cardboard box and put back only the absolute basics. Have stored the box also in laundry and same will apply, if I don't miss them they will go out. Back to counting items to go out: 1 garbage bag of old clothes and pair of shoes for charity bin. Back for another look........

yrwelcome, wtg for getting bag of stuff from the armoire--and for cleaning out the armoire while you did it DAY 5-I emptied my pajama and sundries drawer and got about half a trash bag of wornout unworn things thrown out. *At the bottom of the drawer I found the handkerchief my grandmother handed me before we left for my grandfather's funeral. Cleaning clutter keeps bring up this paradoxical situation: I find something. I had completely forgotten the existence of the thing. If I had never found the thing I would never ever have thought about it ever again for one second. However, now that I have found it, I stand there feeling like it would rip a piece out of my heart to throw it away. I am NOT throwing away the handkerchief. I will use it. I will take it to funerals with me from now on. And weddings.

How lucky to find that handkerchief, Charis. Decluttering indeed can be bittersweet.
I worked in a back room today. Collected 2 nice bags, but will count it as one for a future day when the collection is scant.

I'm playing catch-up today. DH has put several large trash bags filled with mostly paper out of his room into the common areas. I sorted through another one today.
1. Filled a box with papers to be recycled 2. Topped off a trash bag.
A few items need to be shredded and filed, but I'll get to that tomorrow.

way to go baggers!
(that somehow sounds obscene)
baggies?...no!
baguettes? ...confusing.
I did 2 bags of garbage and a broken chair tonight so far. chair will count as one bag, though I don't need to put it in a bag.

Way to go, gals. Totally baguiling. This morning, I cleared extra jars/bottles from lower bathroom cupboards. I emptied and recycled what was possible, and tossed the rest. Be-gone bags!

UPDATE!!!!
Not all of the stuff you eliminate needs to be in physical bags.
You can count the elimination of financial and electronic/digital baggage too. I should delete at least 1000 email messages and unsubscribe to many of them.
I know of someone who downgraded their cable and phone packages, eliminated Netflix and a gym membership they weren't using. They also learned that they could save money on their insurance, etc., and saved $250-300 per month!
I have another bag of DH's stuff i want to go through later today.

This evening I grabbed another one of DH's bags of papers and random stuff. I got halfway thorugh it, filled half a box with paper to be recycled. There are a few items to be filed and a few to be shredded. My daughter and I loaded an old generator into my Dad's van when he was visiting today. He wants to get it running again. (We bought a new one.)
