Day #8: I have 7 large huge rubber maid storage boxes full of stuff for Goodwill or the consignment shop. Tonight, I am delivering some of that stuff so it's out of my closet so I can declutter more. I have another two boxes of things in an outside closet that I can't part with yet, but will later (hopefully). I also have some things to return to the store with receipts, so that's today's bag #8. I've really kind of lost count of the number of bags (it's over 8 when you count garbage (and some of those have been 40gallon bags), but I am doing *something* everyday to declutter or clean, and that's what matters to me most. >> Birdmama, I totally understand about gratitude about being fully mobile. I am always thankful for that, and I am changing and on this journey for my physical, mental, and spiritual health, so I don't end up where my family is. >> Ally, WTG on another trash bag of stuff (and yes, it all counts in my world too) >> yrwelcome, Awesome job on getting more cleared! Bathrooms always seem to be a collection area for me between ponytail rubber bands, lotions, etc. >> Betsymarie, Sounds like a very laborious job de-tinting windows. It's great that you are doing all that! >> RoadRunner, I didn't even think about files for my PC, but yeah, that's something I've been meaning to or wanting to do too. Just haven't yet. Thanks for reminding me about it! And good job on doing it! >> Charis, Good job on books! Those are so hard for me. Fabulous job on getting your bookcases decluttered.

dragonfly, wtg on not only getting stuff "bagged" up but moving it out of the house! My donate piles are starting to pile up in the garage Good work all, especially those who do the challenge after a day of work, caring for children or elders, or other important chores. Day 9--I cleaned out the large plastic tub under my bed and got a full trash bag of old work papers, cards, and etc.

This morning I did the last two (for now) of detinting the windows and cleaning off the adhesive. One was easier than the other. But I think I'm going back to 'bag' work. For me, that would be more beneficial for this challenge, and I really do want to get more 'stuff' out of the house. And I was going to do the windows anyhow. But they are done, and in a more timely manner, so good. Tomorrow it will be back to 'bags' of something or other.

What a great idea! I think for me (and probably many others) sticking to 40 days in a row might be tough. But I printed out the blank printables (no dates) and I am going to use that to track what I do. I bet we could do 40 bags just in our garage!
I am going to start late and work at my own pace, but am glad I glanced at this thread. Good motivation and the site has great ideas, especially for our toy situation.

MamaAngie, Make it work however it works best for you. There are a few days a week that I am out of the house for 14-15 hours, so those days I skip. I try to make up for it on days when I am home.
This morning I deleted 100 email messages. I unsubscribed to one. I need to delete and unsubscibe to many more.

Late to the barty...but jumping on board.
Small bag of clothes and a HUGE bag of clothes ready to go to a friend. She will get more once I am able to get back to purging.
five bags of shredded papers. smaller grocery size bags. All old mail that has been kicking around the house forever....I have so many boxes of old paper items to sort through. THe magazines and such get an easy toss. I glance through the weekly paper to make sure it was not an edition that had one of my kids in it, then that gets tossed. The envelopes all get opened and confidential stuff gets shredded. My shredder is not heavy duty enough to put the entire envelope in. So once I gather a good pile of shreddables - I pull up a chair and spend a few mins shredding.
I have a few boxes (larger boxes) of stuff that I have been collecting to donate. I will need to pull them out and get them to a trunk to be dropped off.
I think I am somewhere between 10-15 once I get the boxes out.
wow - that added up faster than i thought. I can do this.

I really like how people are customizing the challenge to what they need to accomplish the most. WTG getting rid of yard waste and digital clutter as well as more typical stuff.
DAY 10- I finished the upstairs bookcases that I started the other day and got an armload of books added to donation pile.

I filled 6 30 gallon bags a week ago last Tuesday. It was so wonderful having them taken away on Wednesday. Planning the same thing next week. Everyone is doing great!
