There was a 60% off sale at Macy's this last week too papermoon. I don't know what is getting bought or where this year for Christmas. Maybe a lot online? Anyway, glad you got such good deals on new things. I haven't been to Old Navy myself for a while. Today I purchased quite a number of things but I got some really good discounts too. Yarn (yes! But I need one more skein to finish nephew's Christmas present socks) 40% off with coupon. A ton (40 bags) of livestock feed at a sale price that works out to be half what I usually pay. It isn't quite as good a feed but it won't kill 'em and they won't starve. Clothing at Value Village at 50% off since I had a club card. I got two pairs of corduroy pants, one black, the other a purplish blue. A turquoise turtleneck, and an acid yellow sweater (wool) that I really really like. It makes it easier to get rid of some of the former job clothing. Borax Cat food, lots. I have to find to a way to get canned cat food cheaper than I am. I am feeding Grace kitty canned only for a little while. She seems to have a bit of a UTI so I want her eating wet food only for the water content. I didn't get groceries for myself as I am foraging the freezer and pantry right now.

Oh papermoon and angela - it sounds like you have both scored some good bargains. lostchild - I hope you take some time to treat yourself. I went into town today for a medical appointment, then drifted past the city shops on the way to lunch with a close friend. Lots of tempting bargains, but I didn't need them, so I kept my credit card in my purse. I am so pleased with myself. I did buy 2 packs of Celestial Seasonings tea bags for friend. I also purchased a goat - well, not really a goat for myself, but an Oxfam gift card where a family in an African country receives a goat - you send the card to the recipient.

I bought some fuzzy warm pj's last night on sale at Wal-Mart. Three piece - top, pants, and fuzzy warm socks. I bought one for me and one for DD.
I bought two christmas/winter tablecloths while there, also. One for kitchen table, one for breakfast room table.

I bought 2 Christmas cakes from our small, local bakery. They are presents for extended family members who might or might not be around this Christmas. I want to have a present on hand in case I see them. And I have a back up plan just in case I don't see them.

- 3 more tops at Old Navy's sale for $4 each - The Wizard of Oz on DVD... THE best housecleaning soundtrack ever! - Disney Princess bandaids... if I have to test my blood sugar twice every day, I might as well have something cute to cover those finger pricks.

Last night I wore my new-to-me half-price purplish blue corduroy pants and the cushy soft aqua turtleneck sweater that was a tag color sale item a couple of months ago. I love it when my clothing bargains for so comfortably and look so nice.

angela ~ Those colors sound so yummy together. I forgot... I also bought sweet orange essential oil. I mixed some with lemongrass eo and filtered water in a spray bottle, and spritzed it all around. Instant summer!

Oh lovely papermoon. A friend sent me some sweet orange tea that I received today. Yes, what an uplifting fragrance! You're reminding me to refill my spray bottle, maybe orange oil this time.

I have not posted here for some time so here are my December acquisitions: a tea caddy (this one: www.teacaddy.uk.com/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=14073559) - since it is the one I have been looking for for a long time, I no longer need two other temporary ones, which I gave away a bookmark (a present) - it is a beautiful moving picture of fox and I love it so much that I gave away three other bookmarks (again no more need for temporary solutions) a coffee cup - exactly the same one I got for the last Christmas and love so much - now I will have one at work and one at home. And it was so cheap, it cost me a third of what I spent on junk food yesterday I also got some early Christmas presents. One of them was anonymous and the person does not even know about it - someone donated a stack of older books to a library, including one I was longing for for a looooong time, and in a perfect condition for a paperback made in 1968.

Did some acquisition last week for Christmas presents. They didn't come into my house so I'm not counting them. I will say that at Old Navy I was tempted by a couple of things for myself but didn't really need anything so only bought gifts there. I did buy a little cross-stich kit and two long-sleeved all cotton t-shirts at VV.

Um, Christams presents we got are not counted as an acqusition, are they? They did come to my house, but I was not the one who bought them.

lucie, I'm counting Christmas gifts as acquisition for myself since it's stuff I'm choosing to allow into the house. cleanbee so sorry about your loveseat. I have used the double sided sticky things and they do seem to help. I got them at PetSmart and they are pretty cheap.
