I'm quite proud of what I've achieved in the last few days. I'm trying to clear my tiny hall, and trying to get the overflow from the other rooms back into them. Yay, I can see floor. Just one shelf full of craft stuff to go back into that room. Anyway, I have uncovered a stain on the carpet. I am guessing that a piece of fruit has been left on the carpet and left a mark there. I don't want to start removing it and do some damage. My carpet is a wool carpet - does anyone have any suggestions? Or is there a thread where this may have already been covered. Thanks

Hi alic!
Congratulations on all the great work you have done so far. :-) I do.want to mention that it is possible the stain has reached to the underpadding (or even to the floor below that). Is the stain near to a wall where you can lift the edge from the wall and see how far the damage may have reached? Then you can make sure to get to the root of it.

Test on a small not visible spot first because it could fade carpet, but I have gotten excellent results using a super strong Oxyclean solution. (I actually purchase a less expensive off brand.). Mix about 3 scoops in a quart of very hot water, pour on stain, brush. Then blot with an old towel and then use a wet towel to remove any possible powder residue. Oxy is my go to spot remover. I have accomplished more than a few "miracles" with it.

I can recommend Spot Shot spray. It's gotten many "mystery" stains out of my nylon carpets.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I found a few more ideas on Pinterest and have to say that it has improved. I don't think it will ever come out but it is not as noticeable as when i started out.
