Hi Baglady! I'm so impressed with your bag creations. They are awesome! My mum crochets bags into mats; she has one in her tub to keep from slipping. Since she's in Denver, we used to save the orange and blue newspaper bags to crochet into Bronco colors mats to sell. But, your bags look SO stylish! I've never seen anything so kewl! There is a good book: Mason Dixon Knitting... they have a florishing blog too. Just google Mason-Dixon. They took the idea of the plastic bag crochet to another level by cutting old tee shirts into small strips, then you loop the loops together to make a long piece you can knit or crochet into rugs. Pretty kewl! It's a baby step process to clean up. And, if you're like me, I would rather Knit! So, getting motivated is always a struggle. I know you can do anything for fifteen minutes and using my timer to help me get the dishes done is what I do. Take heart, be encouraged and just know YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We get so isolated from others and begin to feel as though we're the only ones struggling from the problems we have. Not so... you have the support of everyone on these boards. Much love, R

Hi Ontiptoe, thanks for the encouragement.
I have done one small rug with the plastic it is by my bed. I will check out the t-shirt info it sounds like something I could do. I will be trying out the timer tip also.

I love these ideas! Those purses are gorgeous. Who knew you could make something so pretty from plastic bags? I may try this. I am a person who would much rather knit than clean, too!

Thank you messyshellby, hope you have as much fun as I do. Of course I would rather do anything than clean BUT I am learning that it is not as hard to keep my room clean as I had feared.

Baglady: you said "I give the completed handbags to a nursing home when I go see my brother plus I use some for myself."
You are a very charitable and caring person by giving these handbags to the nursing home where your brother is. Caring enough to make a difference in someone else's life says that you are indeed a one of a kind individual.
