So yesterday, I simply could NOT get myself to do another set of 5 dishes. I did put other things away every time I thought I should do dishes and other times throughout the day. I'm trying to get up and do something on the half hours.
Today I washed 5 more dishes. One cookie sheet (on counter for a week), an ice cream pail with lid, my flat oven stone, and the rice steamer bowl (used again last night) with it's spoon. A load did get washed yesterday, so relatively few regular dishes. Maybe today I will finish day 1. or not.

Of all my house duties dishes are my biggest weakness. I've never had a dishwasher so I've always had to hand wash. With 4 kids that's a lot of dishes . I used to do dishes about once every 3 or 4 months. Washing only the things we needed on a daily basis. I am proud to say that over the past 2 months I do my dishes at daily. A couple of times I went a couple of days. I now actually enjoy doing dishes. It's been so hot lately so I stood in front if the sink lastnight with the cool breeze blowing through my window and rinsing my dishes in cold water. It was actually refreshing to do the dishes. I think it's all about mindset. Living each moment in the moment and trying to keep a positive attitude. I love reaching into my cupboard for a dish now and actually having one there! I love not having fruit flies and bugs flying all over my kitchen. I love watching my kids make a snack on the clean counter with clean dishes. Clean dishes are a great anti depressant but unfourtunately it's the initial two to three weeks of turturing youurself to get up and do them that makes it difficult. Once you break free and just start excepting the dishes duty they become a lot less bothersome. Clean dishes are , as priviously stated by another member, contagious ! Once you get those dishes clean it starts spreading like a ripple from a rock dropped in water.
