My friend's mother is a hoarder in a small home. Her console tv was broken. The family bought a new smaller nicer model. The mother put the new tv on top of the old tv. And wouldn't let the family throw out the huge ugly console. My MIL and FIL have their mid-seventies console TV as a media stand for their new TV too! I have seen pictures online of those old consoles made into aquariums WTG cellybird and family for saying goodbye to the old behemoth. That was a big chore.

There was a joke that Jeff Foxworthy did saying here's your sign about the new television on top of the old one and my door was open when it came on.
My neighbor heard it and came out screaming "Whose talking about me!?!"
Her curtains were open and plain as day was a brand new small color t.v. sitting on a seventies console. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
