I finally decided I would never use the 'new' film I was storing in the frig and tossed it yesterday. It's expiration date was 2001. Ack. My husband has film in the frig too and I *know* it is much older than yours! ay yi yi!

Today's find wasn't really a "find". I knew it was there for a long time but was unable to access it....that space between the oven windows. The amount of ick, grease, juices that were in between those panes was disgusting. Finally I youtubed how to open the door to get between the panes to clean. So much better but even after an hour of scrubbing there are faint "tracks" that are just too stubborn. *sigh*

Two really nice finds the past couple weeks. Hope nice finds are ok to report in this thread.
1. As I was going through a closet this morning, I found a pair of never used sports shoes. I thought I had already used the last pair and was looking on ebay for the right style and size. Now I've got more time.
2. One of my favorite decorations are one of those Egyptian cat statues (Bastet). Unfortunatley I had broken a bit of the ear off and it was very noticeable. That was years ago... but did I fix it at the time??? Of course not. I came upon the missing chip last week as I was sweeping the floor before vacuuming in a back bedroom. Glad I recognized what that small dark piece of material was. Perhaps because I had just been lamenting its loss a few days before.

All the non vocal or active toys came out just fine, clean, smelling nice and soft and fluffy. Still don't know what to do about the ones with mechanical bits in them. Or the two eaten things. lesaulerouge, Rubbing/isopropyl alcohol (I don't know what you'd call it in France or England) is reasonably safe for electronics. Maybe you can give them a good sponge bath and then let them dry. Also would you be able to patch the holes on the other animals? You can make it look like a bandage or use sports tape and make it look like a plaster cast, as if the animal had a broken toe... I just googled it and it looks like rubbing alcohol is called "surgical spirits" in the UK.

Ally thanks. They are still in her bin, which she refuses to empty so she now has paper tissues all over her floor. We are in a stalemate battle situation re tidying her room just now. Yes, know what surgical spirits is - you use it in newly pierced ears, though I don't know what else! Don't know what they call it in French, I have alcohol but it is yellow.

We had a breakthrough yesterday when we did our regular empty of all the bins in the house. Dd decided, of her own volition and with no commenting at all on my part, to empty her bin and let the mouse chewed toys go. She, quite rightly, said that if she kept the wheat filled rabbit it might tempt them back, and she finally agreed that the little thing with the chewed foot could go because she still had the rest of the set.
Still have the battery things to clean, her bedroom has got worse again after the mini crisis tidy we did that day, and yesterday whilst changing her sheets she lost her retainer and we cannot find it again. But, the bin is now back where it should be and the mouse damaged toys have gone so that IS progress!
Eta, she just got home for lunch and found the retainer within seconds! Woohoo, that's €50 we won't need to spend...

Too funny not to share: in our living room, there's a brick wall that has little extended bricks to hold knick knacks - we have miniature ships on ours. I was using the brush attachment on the vacuum cleaner to get the bulk of the dust off of everything, and I was *ultra careful* not to wreck the little ropes of the rigging on them. How hilarious to pull one down and see that the 'ropes' were really spider webs covered in so much dust that it blended right in with the ship. It was perfect! I should have taken a picture of it - what a talented spider! (I didn't suck him/her up, just the dust-laden webs)

Looking back at posts from way back... wondering what is this "film" of which people speak. Is that a fancy name for SD card or memory stick?
Seriously I am so glad that I no longer shoot with film. The computer makes me a much better photographer because I can edit my shots without spending a fortune on them, then when I do get them printed, it's only the ones that I WANT and only the portion of them that I want, The color is balanced or adjusted and sometimes things (like the mess in the background) are removed.
