I have tried to post here both yesterday and today and neither posted. (I have learned I need to copy just in case - but didn't both times here - so I will try again.)
Yesterday I treated myself to a cut and colour at the hair dressers. Then I went to the drug store next door and found they had a skin care package of 4 items I like to use in a very pretty makeup bag, for 20% off. (They usually have a package like this every year that I like to buy)
Today I went out to lunch with my friend and former neighbor B, to celebrate our birthdays - they are 5 days apart. It was nice to get out and relax away from the unpacking mess. Chocolates came with the meal and I enjoyed them tonight.

I went to bed when I was tired and didn't feel guilty about the mess left behind and I took my meds.

well done hollyhock, Dit desireelafleur cleanbee. It is good to see you all being kind to yourselves. Hey Dit - there is nothing wrong about being frugal, especially at this time of year when the retailers are trying lots of tactics to get us to spend up big. I like to shop, so I don't mind shopping for Christmas presents, but I also don't want to waste money buying stuff I can't afford. I don't want my friends and family doing this either. Today, I found the undies I bought back in late June - 3 pairs of bras, 2 regular and 1 sports bra. They have been sitting in the bag since I bought them, not sure why it has taken me so long to get to them. I am not going to dwell on the reason why this has taken me so long - instead I am going to put them into circulation and enjoy having some new undies. So, today I cut the tags off, adjusted the straps and they are now ready to be used.

I didn't get to post here yesterday, but again computer problems. I finally got clean sheets on my bed, after moving in here a week ago. (Ddil made up my bed, without asking - and put the old used sheets back on!) And I sprayed it with my White Lilac linen spray. I love that scent. I did not sleep well last PM, because I napped too long after work - but at least while in bed I had that nice scent wafting up.

Today I am going to forgive myself for every undone task , the anxiety from it seems to be doing me more harm then good. I know that it is not going to be simple , I can feel the tightness in my chest from just thinking about it. But I think the strong emotions are hindering my process, so here goes.
I forgive myself for all the undone things around me. I forgive myself for trying to do thing perfectly , so nothing gets done at all. So new mantra
It doesn't have to be perfect , it just has to be started for 15 min.
Today if the first day of the rest my life, it only matters what I do today.

I like that Dit! I know that I try to do too much in a day - but right now I am just trying to find homes for things and move boxes out of the way to make my life easier or nicer to look at. The boxes may not be unpacked - but I don't need to see them sitting in my entrance every time I move, reminding me! After that I plan to slow down - a lot!

Hi Dit - I like your new mantra - in fact, I think it will try using it. hollyhock, you are making so much progress on getting your new apartment sorted. I treated myself by buying some organic cacao powder - it is meant to have all these wonderful health benefits. Hmm, I am not sure about the truth in all of the claims, however I am hoping it will give me an alternative hot drink than coffee.

I've treated myself with kindness today and yesterday by taking my pills. I felt better just hours later, which I think is a placebo effect, because I don't think the med works that fast after a break. But hey, whatever!

Today I got my kitchen to a functioning state, including washing the floors by hand. That's a good feeling. Got groceries, and bought some mini butter tarts - yum. Last week my hairdresser said my usually oily hair was very very dry - so I bought conditioner today. I got the kitchen all cleaned after supper and rewarded myself with a hot chocolate.

I treated myself with kindness today by acknowledging that I may be in over my head. I called my insurance co for a referral for a therapist to help me with grieving death of my friend, and work related issues.
