Today I did 2 things. First I woke up in a lot of pain, and could barely walk - after working last PM. I called in sick. Initially I felt guilty since its so busy right now - but I need to look after me, because management doesn't and they let me down on what we discussed. By tonight I am feeling quite a bit better - I really took it easy today.
But that leads to the 2nd thing. I got rid of a whole lot of stress that has hung over my head for years - my bills are all paid up, up-to-date. All are filed, or shredded or tossed. I have had a stack of bills and papers and notes sitting beside me at my old place for a long long time, because I could never pay them all off. Well today I got the last bit all paid off, and filed and recorded in Quicken and in my bill book. It's just so nice to have it all done, away, and I feel at peace about it all right now. (Of course this could not have happened if I hadn't sold my house) I just feel very relaxed about it all, finally.

Today I didn't really do anything nice for me - but my ds and ddil did - they took me out for a belated birthday dinner - so that was nice. To a German restaurant that I have not been to for ages. (My ds asked me when I was last there - I said "I think it was before you were born' - and he's 31 - .) Very cozy, homey, lots of food and very filling! I had a quiet day but managed to get away 8 more boxes of stuff - and I managed to find some missing items like combs and nail care stuff.

I treated myself with kindness by organising an outing with a friend, to go to a free vintage fashion talk. I think I am too old to wear vintage now (not to mention overweight) but I am kind of interested in the jewellery aspect. It sounds like a fun event. I had better send the details to my friend before I forget.

I cleared out boxes and boxes of old emotional baggage papers today. Found a bunch of letters that my ex wrote me when we were together. I didn't put them in the shred box (yet) but i treated myself with kindness by not reading them or even unfolding them. Whew.

I filed my nail... that had broken instead of biting the whole thing off to the quick.

The small acts of kindness sometimes are the most important. Good for you DEf6 and cleanbee. Jendela sounds like a lovely time.

I perfected how to make coconut oat haystacks in a mug today. So now I can make 6 drop cookies in under 5 min..YES In a 2 cup glass mug 1 tablespoon butter ( melt 30 seconds) 2 TB cocoa powder ( mix in to melted oil) pinch salt 2 TB milk 1/4 cup sugar Stir and microwave 1 min until it looks like a thick fudge sauce still bubbling add a drop of vanilla 1/2 cup oats 1/4 cup coconut stir Divide into 6 cookies and let cool My kindness to myself is I get to eat some of these cookies..

Wow! That looks like fun, Dit!
Did you use "minute oats" or "old-fashioned" rolled oats?

Arid , you can use either. This is a drop cookie the oats do not cook they just get coated in chocolate... The cookies get solid as they cool so put them in the fridge.

I filed my nail... that had broken instead of biting the whole thing off to the quick. I should follow your lead and have more restraint. After biting most of my nails off I finally went for a manicure today. She got a very good tip, my nails were in horrible, shape. Bad.
