Good morning everyone! Ugh, I don't know if I forgot to set the alarm clock or if I silenced it absentmindedly . Had only breakfast so far and decided to get rid of a book. I'm concentrating on those books of which I think I may get them out. I've done all the easy decisions and am getting to the tougher ones. Next: shower, run errands .

Hi flotsam I washed my hair, used a face wash and a cream (the skin around my nose is sore), had breakfast, then made bed, checked news here, listened to a book for some time. Later I had a coffee, put a laundry on and now made a shopping list for Monday (since I am on a sick leave, I can not leave home till then)

Hi flotsam, thank you for starting this thread. WTG - deciding to get rid of a book. I think I will join you in this project - I have an old paperback copy of Tess of the d'Urbervilles that I think I can part with. The book is not in good condition. I will let you know the outcome. Best wishes for a productive weekend

lucie -- Hope your nose feels better, quickly. flotsam -- We can both cheer each other on about both of our "upcoming not really planned, but knowing we are going to move to another area" moves. Ha! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers re: my nephew and the shootings at Florida State University. Looks like there are lots of folks going thru books and especially dealing with the "tough decision" types. Good luck with that, y'all!!! That will be coming up for me, too, later on at some point. Here's my update from last night: Went to CVS Pharmacy -- bought RX, etc. Got Gas Dropped off mail at Post Office Fed dogs, again ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And another update: I passed out on the couch, again, with Contacts still in. lucie, I'm glad to see you are feeling better. Good handkerchiefs (made of cloth) are way more gentle to the nose than tissues (made of paper). jendela, how did it go? Do you have an e-reader? "Tess" is old enough to be public domain, and you can get a free copy of the Gutenberg Project. Sometimes this helps making a decision. cando - Well, this is definitely not my day: I almost burned my meal . It was still eatable though. I'd prefer to hide in bed, but I have to do the dishes and get ready for paid work .

I am going to get my new laptop today (yay!) so I really need to force myself to also do some housework and not just play nerd all weekend!
Today I took a bag of old medication to the pharmacy's collecting bin.
I'd like to at least wash few loads of laundry today and change sheets and towels and wash today's dishes.

Good morning wtg you guys, for getting stuff done - flotsam, I'm with you, I don't wanna get up, whaaa. Unless I was getting my new laptop - that's exciting, OTM, congrats! Wheee, I got mine a year ago, and I'm still totally thrilled with it: I love the touchscreen, and now I find myself poking at screens wherever I go, forgetting that these aren't standard, rotflmao. Duh. I've fed the dogs and bird, and cleaned ashtrays in bathroom (the only room we smoke in, because it has the fan to vent out the smoke) this is another one of the things I'm trying to make a habit - wipe them clean, every chance I get. They're both such beautiful glass, and deserve to be shining. Also de-hoarded my kitchen table of things that needed to be put away, and actually managed to fold up the birthday bag and store with the others - which I amazingly pared down to just one big bag that can contain the rest. These were balancing on top of my mess in the bedroom I tackled the other day, and I tossed some of them, too. I was on the verge of tossing them all, but realized that some can be reused for Christmas gifts next month, so I'll get rid of them then. I have that laundry in the dryer to put away, and then I think I'll water my plants and vacuum living room. This is a big job, to move all the plants and get at the leaves that have fallen. But it's a beautiful sunny day, and I might even be motivated to wash the sliding glass dooors that the plants are sitting in front of. Like, 'get right at the ick with a toothbrush' kind of cleaning! Whoo hoo! But first, some coffee, and some hanging out with you fine folks! Thanks again for helping me deal with this!

lucie, I'm glad to see you are feeling better. Good handkerchiefs (made of cloth) are way more gentle to the nose than tissues (made of paper). Flotsam, I have absolutely opposite experience. I usualy use cloth handkerchiefs, but when I have a cold, I use paper ones. The cloth ones stay damp and bother the skin around my nose much more. I am starting to have energy again, only thing that bothers me now is a blocked nose.

lucie - Yay, for energy! I feel ya on the stuffed nose, thang. I seem to have a perpetual one.. Here's a big, wonderful update! Yay! DH removed some stuff from the Entry Hall. He has a Computer/Electronics Recycler coming to his Office today as they are moving across the hall to a bigger offices. So, he dismantled a HUGE server that he has had in there for years!!! It is about 2.5 feet x 2 feet x 2.5 feet. Weighed about 300 lbs. Has been "dead" for a long time. He took it and another computer or server with him. The other computer/server has been in the Entry Hall a long time, too. I helped him carry things out & he also took about 4 new boxes that I had left over from when I packed up my DD's things and sent them to her apartment in July. And, he took the 7 boxes that I had gotten rid of stuff out of & broken down as they were good moving boxes, too. In addition, he took a poster that DS had given him a couple years ago for him to hang in his Office. It has been rolled up and hanging around my sink counter & breakfast bar... getting shuffled around. He had never taken it to work. DS is coming home this weekend to visit and I don't want him to see it still hanging around. And, I've wanted it outta here! Plus, the 3 6 packs of Gatorade and Powerade that I had removed from the Pantry Shelves a few weeks ago to make room for food that had been sitting on the Eating Area Table... in order to make room for all DH's Nutrisystem foods that he has been keeping in the Entry Hall in boxes. He keeps getting shipments & had been storing them in my Entry Hall. This started over a year ago. He is giving those to his Office. One more thing he took.... was the DVD player that is for a vehicle. We both thought that someone at his Office might want it. I had left all these things in the Entry Hall right where he would see them and remember to take them one day this week. I thought he was taking it much sooner... but that's okay... today (Friday) is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fed dogs Med to Puppy Thyroid med & Allergy spray Well, there was a ton of dust/hair balls under that huge server that he removed from the Entry Hall -- All on top of, around, and thru all the cables and multiple outlet that had been behind that server. I think it would have been shocking to most people, and I'm pretty sure it was a fire hazard. We probably have quite a few spots like that lurking around. I got out the big broom & dust pan & set to work on that area. Ended up getting a can of compressed air and used that, too. I removed about a pound of hair/dust balls!!! It was so gross... maybe a couple dead bugs, a couple parts, 2 batteries, about 3 cents. Then, I set to work untangling those cables & removing more dust/hair balls -- all intertwined . One big power supply was only about half plugged in the multi outlet strip. I didn't know what I might do if I unplugged it and when I pushed it in all the way... I realized that I had pushed it in on top of dust. Yikes! Then, I got the idea that maybe all of those weren't going to anything. Maybe plugged in, but not in use or something. So started figuring out what the heck the cables went to. It took a lot of time and involved going behind everything where they butt up to the double doors of the Office that we don't really use. They are just slightly ajar due to cables running into outlets from the stuff in the Entry Hall into the Office. So, if you can imagine equipment on both sides of the doors. Cables running all over the place mixed up, jumbled... some going into equipment in the Office from the Entry Hall... some the other way around. Multi outlet strips in both the Entry Hall and in the Office. So, I was going in and out of the Office and Entry Hall. In order to get in the Office, I had to walk thru the Hallway. The computer desk in the Entry Hall was blocking the 2 double doors. After quite some time and having to move a chest of drawers a little ...that butted up to the double doors from inside the office. The top of it holds the printer & the printer/copier. (2 separate pieces of equipment). Don't even bother asking why we have a printer AND a printer/copier! ! Ended up removing 5-7 cables/power supplies/etc. That big power supply that was half plugged in that I couldn't really even get plugged in properly .... wasn't even going to anything! I was able to just unplug it altogether!!! Just totally crazy & i suspect unsafe. Whew! That was a lot of work and my fingers were swollen when I was finished. Emptied kitchen trash & replaced bag Took 2 bags of trash to outside can CD

Great work on your DH's part, cando - awesome and congrats! OTM, does that mean you can play on your new laptop waiting for the laundry room to be free? Lucie, glad you're getting your energy back. I'm feeling sick, and IDK if it's a cold or just all the dust I'm stirring up. Seriously. So I decided to get my socks sorted, before anything else. I had 2 laundry baskets of clean socks and I'm enjoying pulling a pre-sorted pair out of my sock drawer, like a normal person, ha. So before the cat slept on them again, I did it. Wow, I have lots of socks. Purging them can be put on my 'to do' list at some point, that's for sure!

My project for tomorrow is to pull out my rats' cage, vacuum the living room carpet, douse it with enzyme remover, and then go over it with my carpet cleaner. DH will get a nice fire going, to have it dry asap. Then I'll head to work. That'll be a productive day! So now my night is going to be dinner and relaxing, with a load of laundry thrown in - once the cheaper rates kick in, ha.
