Out and about most of the day. Ate lunch out , not many dishes to deal with for a change. Kitchen mostly tidy.

I would remind you that mixing bleach with dishwashing detergent is dangerous. The labels on the detergent bottles caution against doing so. Just soap and good old hot water should be enough.
Best wishes. Oh, if you run out of dirty dishes, I still have plenty to offer. MissABCD

Excellent advice, MissABCD. I saw this thread rise to the top of the Latest posts, said "Oops", got up from the computer, washed all the dishes, and shined the sink, so now my honor has been restored.

Ran DW overnight and unloaded this morning. I have caught up with all the odds and ends during the day. dayeanu, maybe try using diluted white vinegar to sanitize dishes if you feel they have been soaking too long? I used this once when some good plastic storage containers were overlooked. I figured that vinegar should be safe to use on food containers as I did not want to use anything too toxic.

I wonder what hospitals use to sanitize dishes? Hmm, that's worth googling for.

I washed up late last night.
I was going to query the use of bleach unless things were moldy science experiments. And to use it before a normal wash up would be my choice. This morning I remembered - we used to use chlorine solutions as equipment and udder washes in the dairy. No detergent or soap.

Put away clean dishes in the drying rack, washed up the knives and cutting board from lunch and wiped down the counters. Will run the dishwasher as soon as everyone is done eating.

Put away contents of dishwasher and drying rack, washed one pot that was soaking from last night's dinner, put breakfast dishes in the dishwasher. Now it's time to make lunch and dirty more dishes.
