PaperGrace - Thank you for the kick start to work on going thru more items but I am starting to find it more difficult since I am close to maintenance in many areas of the house. I had been keeping track of what was going out but keep forgetting to write down what I have been getting rid of. Since I have gotten so close I am being more selective about what I count. I do know that in the past two weeks I have been getting rid of lots of papers after I have scanned them. I have figured out when I do scan papers I get around 100 done for every hour of scanning. In the past two weeks I have done scanning at least one hour each day for 4 days a week which would mean that I have gotten rid of about 800 papers in the past 2 weeks. which if I am counting right that would send me over the 2015 things out for this year.

Andrea, I'm the same, that's why I'm also counting paper in my totals--not paper that I would throw away immediately anyway, but any paper that is already in my files or saved stuff, and any paper that comes in that I have to do anything with. If it requires any kind of action from me, I count it when I'm finally finished with it.
I did do a file cleanout a while back so I was able to go and find where I made notes of the papers I was getting rid of--the total was 561. Also noted on my sticky note were 32 books, a glass jar and a pen. So my prior total to add was 595, but this week I threw out a sweatshirt, a food container and--hardest of all--a cosmetic bag that I used as a change purse for many years. It was just the right size, and it had cats on the side of it--art taken from a painting. I LOVED this little bag. The lining ripped over the years, and finally the zipper stopped working. So I stopped using it, but saved it, because I wanted to find another just like it. I think I originally got this at a museum shop. I don't know the name of the painting the art was taken from, so I tried to find famous paintings with cats on them online--figuring I could then look at EBay or somewhere to see if anyone was selling one of these purses.
But--I have finally decided to say goodbye to the bag. It served me well for years and it's time to let it go. Perhaps one day I'll find another of the same design, if not, I'm sure I can find another bag to serve as a wallet. In fact, I saw some gorgeous Laurel Burch design cosmetic bags online while looking up "cat cosmetic bags". Some of them are too large to use as a wallet but there are a couple I can look at later, if I get some extra money.
I'm going to update my ticker now.
Diane
