That is what I'm thinking, that some people lose it all to floods/fire. At least I have a few. reb, physically I am lucky and I walked away. Mentally,it was event that sunk me deeper into depression. Also it is a huge blow financially for many reasons. In hindsight, whos to say I'd ever had gone through any of them if it were not for the accident. They were just going to be perpetually protected in my trunk (in my mind) Exactly, woolybooger. WTG in turning a traumatic situation into something positive. Please give yourself credit for getting the small percent of the pictures that you have saved in frames so you can enjoy them. How many times have we intended to sort and never got around to it? I am sorry for all the things that have happened to you, especially the accident. this loss of the photos is another unintended result of a trauma. I'm sorry that you yourself didn't get to pick your absolute favorite pictures to frame, but you made the best of a bad situation. You have lost a lot. but as reb said the best, YOU are irreplaceable, and you are still here - we are glad of that. I hope you can get some financial recovery and get help with the depression. we're here for you.

I am so sorry. I know how you feel. I have had similar situations because of my financial squalor. I think you are on the correct path, given the circumstances. That is protecting what you can, taking/sharing the lesson, and moving on. Thanks for your courage and honesty. Gentle hugs.
