Hey everyone, thanks so much for joining in. A whole week is over--that went too fast! Here's my one week report--my cleaning schedule--well, it went well the first half of the week, then I had a slight change in work schedule, which threw me off, as it always does. Unless I have half days off during the week I never seem to be able to get done what I want to. But, I'm working on floors today, so will start fresh tomorrow. My stretching exercises have been done except for one day, Thursday, when I really did forget about them until bedtime and then just didn't want to do them. The good news is that I processed one whole box of books to sell, and I've gotten rid of 1/2 of a donation box by bringing them to various places. So on that one, I'm a little ahead--have 4 and a half to go. We won't talk about the blinds. How is everyone else doing this first week?? Diane

My big thing this week, for looking after me, was I bought myself an exercise bike. I need to work on strengthening my leg muscles, and hopefully it will be a good activity for keeping my arthritic joints moving - I'm just not sure how often or how long to use it. That is my first goal with it, use it a bit daily - and if it also helps me lose weight, all the better.
I also walked down to the Senior Activity Center 2 blocks away and joined for the year. I signed up for 3 programs in their next session that starts next month - tai chi, beginners bone builders, and a craft and chat weekly session where I can work on my cross-stitches. I think the activities, the walk there and meeting new people will be really good for me. I am working on having more veggies, more fruit and more fiber in my diet, and bought more of each with Friday groceries.
On my working with fabric part of my plan for March, I only did some on-line research. I was working with getting some of my knickknacks washed up, then we were informed of an inspection for next day, taking an afternoon to sign up for the seniors programs and then meeting with ds to get bike, finding out it was in a warehouse, so had to wait delivery next day - then have ds over yesterday to help me get it together, took away from any fabric plans and searches through closets. Better luck this week.
I stopped curling my hair this week - I need to keep trying it. She cut it shorter than usual last week (its a bob) and its hard to get any rollers in the bottom now. In all, a successful week, although everything is only in the beginning stages.

My daughter's baby show will be held in my home March 29. I have to get rid of all the clutter and boxes in my bedroom. I know people will peek in there.

This week was more about getting things situated with my boys since we had quite a few problems. I was able to work on my room somewhat but it is going to get a little messed up since I picked up bedframe on Friday and need to bring it up and get it situated. 1) get my room cleaned and organized especially all of the paperwork - I have been attempting to do at least 30 minutes of scanning everyday but am finding that may not be enough so I may up it to an hour a day instead. I have been doing at least an hour a day except for one day where I was out for so long that nothing got done at home. 2) Make at least 2 food items for me each week from scratch - Was not able to do that this week but am using the 2 things I made the week before which is good. 3) Go thru the rest of my items in the attic - Haven't started yet 4) Go thru my items in storage - This will probably take me longer than the 2 months but I can at least get a start on it. I may wait on this until friend gets her things out after getting her own place so that I have plenty of room since it is packed right now and her things are blocking mine. 5) work on straightening out my bills - Got all of my bills together and plan to start figuring out which ones to tackle first but need to get insurance straightened out for me since I am having severe pains right now.

Hey! Long time...me no post...but I have been here and there and reading some, but need to post more because it helps to keep me focused. So, going to join you. My two goals are to clean out two storage buildings here on my property. I have started on both of them, and worked for awhile every day but with the cold weather, I have fallen behind because I didn't want to be outside any more than I had to. I made a goal for this year to clean out all of my storage buildings...which includes a whole separate house. Besides these two, I have two more, and the house. The goal was to finish this before the end of the year. I had decided if I couldn't get my chaos in order by the end of the year, I would think about moving. Of course, I'd have to do it then too...but really, I love this place and I would hate to leave it but I am old now and I would like a little comfort before I die. So those will be my main two goals but I will maybe add a couple more. I would like to include my porch, which now has a huge stack of used flooring (hard wood floor) that will eventually go to finish up the floor in the sun porch. There isn't much I can do about moving it right now...maybe work around it a little. I also want to clean off all the shelves in my kitchen, wipe them down and also the walls. So that is something I can work on, even when the weather is nasty. So, those are my goals. It would be a major accomplishment just to do these things, but definitely doable in the time frame. (I love this little gif...because it looks to me like the little guy is going backwards, and that is what it feels like around here quite often!)

Hey ellen!! Long time no see! Glad you're back here! How is your knee doing? ******************************* I've gone through a 1/2 box of paper. Still too cold to do much cleaning or painting, but I have taken several items out to the garage to recycle or sell. Walking a bit every day, and sometimes doing some stretching/dancing to my favorite radio station.

My three goals were: - establish an exercise program - handle 2 financial matters - main rooms of house clean enough to let people in.
My Week 1 progress...it is a mixed bag... - For exercise, I attended my cardiac rehab sessions AND ordered an inexpensive barbell set so I can exercise my arms after I finish cardiac rehab. - I did nothing to met my financial goals. - On the house cleaning front, I did work in the Kitchen some but it doesn't show much. I cleared the stove and a small place on the counters. I also worked on the table, but it doesn't show. I will be back at it this week.
I also worked some on the backup of laundry and made some progress there. If I do a batch or two a day this week, I should be close to caught up.

My knee is excellent. I had a total knee replacement just over a year ago. It is amazing. I can go up and down stairs...no pain at all...I can walk all day and never get tired. It was a blessing...an answered prayer. If anyone needs one, I recommend it. It has totally made such a big difference in my life. Three times I had been in a wheelchair...unable to move at all. I never could handle crutches. My husband is having surgery tomorrow....he has a bladder stone as big as a duck egg in his bladder. He had a kidney stone almost an inch in diameter removed two years ago. It was lodged in his kidney and they had to go in and grind it up and flush it out. Not sure how they plan to remove this...but he has been in a lot of pain and I know he will be glad to get it over with. They originally said he would be in the hospital for two or three days but now they are talking about making it a day surgery and sending him straight home. So, will see how that goes. Raining today and not a lot done except getting ready for his surgery tomorrow. I have to take some clothes to the laundromat to dry in a little bit. Another rainy, chilly day. I haven't done anything on my projects today, but yesterday I did work on straightening up the front porch. Still that big pile of flooring there, so not much I can do about that until my husband gets time to "nail it down" in the sun porch.

Hi everyone!!! I haven't posted much but read all the time. Thought I would join in on this challenge as I have quite a bit to accomplish by May 1st. Cleaning out my pit of a basement and garage and 2 storage units and then finish rearranging bedrooms. I have made some progress on getting rid of clothes and paper but still have quite a bit more to go through. The common areas stay at a reasonable level of clean but I still have hot spots with in them....like my dining room table. That is one thing that I am aiming for us to get it to stay cleaned off. Thanks for letting me join in with all you wonderful supportive folks.

My husband had surgery today and they kept him. He has a catheter and if he can get by without it tomorrow, he can come home...if not, another day. I spent the entire day at the hospital, and then when I got home, it took me over an hour to feed the animals. So I didn't work on my "projects". I am doing laundry now though. I have done two loads and hope to do two more before I go to bed. I may have to go to bed and wake up and put in another load. I am getting pretty sleepy. I don't have a dryer and usually hang them out, but my plan is to take them to the laundromat in the morning before I go to the hospital. Also have to scoop litter boxes before I go to bed. I do that every night, and every morning. I get free litter, so I try and change it every second day or so. We got a big donation of dog food....as in a whole pallet, and my husband stacked it on the front porch....and raccoons are getting into it, so I really do need to bring it inside, but I doubt I can finish the whole thing tonight. I am running low on motivation.

Aw, sillycanuck, that is sweet of you to remember me. There is a mule show this weekend in Houston. I plan to go Friday and maybe Saturday too. Not showing but some friends are showing their mules.
My husband got out of the hospital today. I washed more clothes this morning, and wanted to take them to dry, but by the time we got back from Galveston, it was late. He isn't going to work tomorrow, so I will do them then.
I swept the bedroom and the hall...and that was about all I had time for. It is raining...has rained so much here. Mud everywhere. At least it hasn't been very cold. Well, cold for us, but not compared to the rest of the country. Hope to get back to my projects soon...even if only a little bit per day until the days get warmer (and drier) and I can spend more time out there.

ellen, I'm glad to hear your husband is home from the hospital already! Snow is melting like mad here the last few days! (I'm in the upper mid-west.) I don't care for all the mud either, but I'm SO HAPPY that spring has finally sprung!!
