I'm going to join this challenge. 1. Clear out dining room (MIL's estate stuff has been piled in there "temporarily" for sorting) 2. Restart exercise program 3. Get garden set up/planted/etc. Those are my big projects for the next couple of months. I was hoping to start to work on the gardening this weekend, but it's snowing again. I bought raised bed boxes last year, but never set them up because it became obvious I wasn't going to have the time needed to garden last summer. This year will be different!

Welcome Perfectionist. This thread has really helped me get going on a project that I have been thinking about/doing just a few little things for a couple of years. This time I'm going to finish and make pictures.

Congratulations, everyone, on the progress you've made. Diane, I am sorry to hear about the pulled muscle. Hope you are feeling better. Would a heating pad help? I haven't made a lot of progress on my "projects"...but I have been cleaning house and trying to get caught up on that so I can go out and work on them, without the nagging ideas in my head that I need to be in the house, cleaning. The main problem has been the weather....constant rain. Working on my projects requires going outside a lot. Just going out to feed the animals has been a bigger chore than usual. I have to wear rubber boots due to the mud. Last night my feet hurt so badly from walking so much in rubber boots...no support, I guess. Today, raining worse than ever. I still have laundry to fold and put away and that is what I am going to do as soon as I post this. I don't mind washing clothes....I really kind of like it, especially since I have a washing machine, after so long without one, but I hate folding and putting away laundry. I will leave it laying around until the cats sleep on it and I have to wash it again. I rhab wildlife and spring time is the busiest time for that too. I have 16 babies that I am raising right now and there will be many more to come before the season is over.

I have finally read everyone's progress here, and am energized again to work on my own goals.
Lucie, congrats on the conquering the attic--I'm glad it wasn't as scary as you thought it might be.
Ima, you really went to work on that sewing room, you're an inspiration! So you can walk around freely now? Do you still have a lot of organizing to do there?
Ellen, nice to see you here, don't get sucked down into the mud with all that rain.
Jannie, your goal is close, 3/29--are you making progress?
I had a really busy week with last-minute pet care jobs and didn't even keep everything maintained here, so no new work on goals. I have two relatively quiet days and then 2 busy ones again, so Sunday and Monday I'll have to work on books, since that's the only thing I'm doing well with.

Been working on my junk room/office. More progress made. Sorting paper, too. There's more floor space to walk around in the room I'd like to empty the whole room eventually, then patch the crack in the ceiling, paint the ceiling, and shampoo the carpet.

Everyone is doing so well!! I finally broke down 10 very large moving boxes that were sitting outside under a tarp. Each box was stuffed with blank newsprint - packing material. Most have been sitting outside in the sporadic rain for almost 4 months. I have a full truck bed for cardboard recycling and 10 lawn bags of paper for regular recycling. Took a little more than an hour but I worked myself up about the task for about 3 months . But it was a physically tiring hour - got my exercise Hope to go back to unpacking tomorrow. PC

I'm hoping to get a few minutes done today because I will be gone most of the day tomorrow.

Was not able to work on bed frame last week and still haven't gotten to it yet this week. I am thinking maybe Saturday I will get the pieces I have up I will try to assemble and then maybe try to get the other pieces up and put together. Checked yesterday to figure out if headboard will be able to get upstairs and it will but we are going to need to hire help since it is way too heavy and awkward for us to get upstairs. 1) get my room cleaned and organized especially all of the paperwork - This past week was not so good since I was only able to work for 4 hours on paperwork and maybe around 30 minutes a day for 4 days on my floor. I am seriously getting overwhelmed with everything that needs to get done now. 2) Make at least 2 food items for me each week from scratch - Still need to make the black bean soup and collard greens and also plan to make my own pasta sauce since any of the canned ones I am unable to have now. 3) Go thru the rest of my items in the attic - Haven't started yet 4) Go thru my items in storage - This will probably take me longer than the 2 months but I can at least get a start on it. I may wait on this until friend gets her things out after getting her own place so that I have plenty of room since it is packed right now and her things are blocking mine. We started going thru some of her items but My items are still blocked at this point so a little has been worked on but long ways still to go. 5) work on straightening out my bills - Have been focusing on getting medical insurance for my boys and I and think it is finally all situated but since doctors don't want me working I have to do some new forms and change things around. I am still working on that so other bills have taken a back seat for now but once I have money I definitely need to focus on bills again and try to get things paid down or even off. One item I absolutely need to work on is getting my educational loans forgiven since I am not making enough at this point.

Hi Crukai, welcome. Sue, I'm glad to see you out of hibernation. Today I went through the last box of sale books in front of the book case, there is just one half box of donation books left there. That one box looks so silly there after all the stacks of them that used to be there--I'm going to try my best to get them out quickly. Then I have to clean and rearrange the bookcase--I can SEE it now! It's the old wooden case that has all my really old books--they look very cool, but they got messy when I was trying to reach around the stacks of boxes to try to get rid of some of them several months ago. That will be a fun project though, I love my old, old books. Diane

I am late checking in this week. Normally, I check in on Monday, but Monday and Tuesday were all goobbered up this week. Can't say I got a lot done...but I will report. Even limited progress is progress.
My three goals were - establish an exercise program - handle 2 financial matters - main rooms of house clean enough to let people in.
So...I did get some exercise during the week...2 cardiac rehab sessions...and unpacked the new weight set I bought.
I did NOTHING on the financial matters. I MUST make that a priority.
My best progress this week was on the house...and it is not all that good. However, I did manage to get the floors in the living room, bathroom, kitchen, and hallway cleared and swept, and mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors. There is much left to do, but the living room floor is no longer knee deep in newspapers, magazines, and books and the worst of the disgusting stuff is off the kitchen floor. Still plenty of stuff stacked up to overflowing on counters, tables, shelves, etc. But it is better than last week, at least.

Goldfinch, this sounds like good progress to me--clearer floors mean you can move around and get to all the other stuff, so it's a big step. Makes a big visual difference too, and that encourages you to keep going.
I have emptied the last of the donation books from the last box by the book case. They are out of here, and there is NOTHING in front of this book case for the first time in...I don't even know how many years. The books are messy looking because I was removing some of them from behind the boxes, trying to get rid of the ones I didn't want, so the next step is organizing and dusting them.

I did some work in the basement this afternoon and bagged the dust from the attic, so now I can easily throw a bag of it in my garbage one at a time without worrying it would be too heavy. Of course I kept missing the bags, and they tore so I had to double or tripple them and I made a horrible mess before bagging it all. Since I was already so dirty, I decided to finish my attic so I will not get this dirty twice. I brough four boxes and a huge sturdy paper bag home from work yesterday, and I filled them with the remaing heaps of dust and a rubbish from roof repairs. Also threw away my late grandmother's old coat. She never liked to wear it, because it was very heavy, and it hung in the attic for decades and got really dirty. It is in the bag now and all is in the basement with the first load of dust ready to be taken away. Either to the big container the city provides three times a year or my neighbour will take it to the dump one day - whatever comes first. I run the three storeys of stairs from the attic to the basement at least ten times today. I hereby pronounce my attic completely done! Now I will continue working on my second goal - loosing some weight so my spring clothes will fit again. I really want to see my weight tomorrow morning.
